If you got a good one out of the pack, it's a great smoke, but there was probably only a 60 to 70 percent chance of that happening. Some of them burned down the side or center of the cigar. Others were wrapped so tightly that unless you can suck a golf ball through a garden hose were unsmokeable.

The bundle I received was dry, harsh, burned unevenly and was very smoky. After curing in my humidor for a couple of weeks, it got better. This is not a good cigar if you smoke regulalry or are used to better quality cigars. Note: 2 of my last 4 shipments from Thompson have been dry and needed to cure before smoking. Ordered a box (858 maduro) in November and it didn't arrive until February and was dry.

I would give this cigar 5 stars if not for that moldy tasting filler tobacco. The maduro wrapper is delicious but paired with fermented mildewy tobaccos? Bleah! It was very smokable draw wise. No wrapper issues and the burn was even with long ashes. Overall a decent puffer but I only gave it 3 stars because I am not a fan of "fermented" tobacco. Shame...I was hoping for nice tasty filler to go with that delicious wrapper.

Good medium-bodied back yard 'gar, very nice coffee/cappuccino flavor. However, the wrapper on several of my sticks did split and peel in places, and on one the entire wrapper just unwound and came off. Couple of sticks had small holes like insect damage in the wrapper. Rolling of the filler was inexpert - most have had a cavity down the middle of the filler, and the burn is very uneven. No canoeing, though. Overall, if you're willing to live with the issues I encountered, these are a decent smoke at a bargain basement price.

Maduro is my preferred wrapper, and I've never encountered the odd flavor I find in these. I'm not sure how to discribe the taste. Allspice perhaps would be close and they do leave a funny aftertaste. My decision to try this cigar was based on reviews and i'm somewhat dissapointed.

The outside tobacco leaf covering, would fall off of I would say 95% of every cigar in the last batch I got, like it was so dry outside sheath of tobacco just pealed off as soon as I cut or lite it. I still have a few left, but started buying them at a local store again for fear of wasting another $50. This is the first batch I bought this year.
