The Thompson Explorer Churchill Habano is an excellent Churchill cigar that goes for a much lower price than boutique and top shelf brands. Thompson Explorer Habano cigars make use of premium Havana seed filler tobaccos for a wonderfully rich and satisfying smoking experience. While that high quality tobacco is good enough to make these solid Churchills hold their own against a variety of top shelf brands, they get even better by featuring a delicious Java Habano wrapper. The 7 inch size and 52 ring gauge of these fine Thompson cigars adds up to a long, very satisfying smoking experience. These high end smokes were conceived as a result of a partnership between Thompson and a secret top-shelf cigar manufacturer. Although the name of that manufacturer won’t be revealed, the fine smoking experience generated by these smokes shows that a master cigar blender had a hand in making them.

i will buy again great price but ..hard to light
great price but very hard to light smouldered rather than burn, have ordered others in the past maybe was a bad batch
3 out of 5
Have to think about it.
I did enjoy the flavor of the tobacco and the aroma but very hard to light on some sticks and very much would light fine . They all were hard to keep burning. I have always enjoyed my choices this was kind of a disappointment. Like I said I enjoyed flavor and the aroma though.

Decent everyday cigar and would buy again.
Use as everyday cigar

WON'T BUY AGAIN
I have ordered these and gave them a chance through the years. Some draw easily, others don't draw at all. The tobacco burns uneven, up the sides. Tried the draw poker, nothing helps. Wasted probably 40% of the cigars. You buy 100 to save money and wind up throwing it away.

Great smoke for the price
Great everyday smoke. Can't beat it for the price. I am absolutely sold on this cigar.

Some are hard to light...

Worst cigar I've ever bought. Will not burn
Will not light, and will not burn evenly. Never has an ash on it that will come off, because of the uneven burn. Would not recommend it to anyone.

The worst cigar I've ever smoked!!!!
This is the worst cigar I have ever smoked!!! I can't believe Thompson being in business since 1915 would put there name on it! It's terrible!! The worst draw I've ever seen!!!! I will do business with Thompson but never again will I buy this cigar!!! Terrible!!! Malo!!!!!

I would buy it again.
I use this cigar for everyday smoke. I like the taste and the smell of it.
2 out of 5
I will not buy this product again.
Hard to stay let. They are so tightly rowed, when using a drawpoker the cigar rips apart. I've smoked around 15 so far and through away 5.

Never again
I am a long term customer of Thompson Cigar and have been very satisfied. This is my first negative review. Cigars were so tightly wrapped and had so many imperfections I had to throw most of them away. I usually buy a more expensive cigar, but thought I might give these a try. Big Mistake.

I will not be buying this paticular cigar again!
Gave one of these to a co-worker the day I got them in. He was to smoke one on his way home and I was going to do the same. Next morning we got a huge laugh. He could not keep it lite or smoke his and I told him I was hoping mine was the only one that way. We both got a great laugh out of how bad it went. Good news is we only have 98 more to get smoked. (LOL)

Thompson explorer churchill
This Cigar is a good looking smoke, and taste is not bad, but one out of three cigars will have a hard draw. The price is good. I will probably buy a cigar draw poker on my next order.

Everyday smoker
This is a pretty good cigar. Lights pretty easy, draws pretty decent but not perfect, and cheap. I smoke these every day and love them because they are cheap.

I will not buy this cigar again.
I enjoy one cigar per day, doctors orders. I have tried to smoke 10 or so. I have yet to have one smoke even close to correctly. They are quite frustrating.

Sorry to say that this is the worst cigar I have bought.
sorry to say but this is the worst cigar I have bought from Thompson. It don't burn right, sometimes it don't burn the complete wrapper and just burns up the middle of the cigar. Lots of ash. It has even burst funny and ashes dropped on my work shirt and burnt a hole in it due to the ashes... No impressed with these cigars at all.... I see that I could of added an image. I wished I had taken a picture of the cigars as I smoked them!!!!!!

Never again. Very disappointed.
I was hoping for a decent smoke and got a cigar that seemed plugged and would not stay lit.

Great Cigars
I enjoy this cigar with a good whiskey after a long day after work or on my days off. The cigar is smooth, full flavored, and it's a delight to smoke.

Awful Cigar !!!
The flavor profile didn't match my expectation. The cigar tasted like half and half pipe tobacco. My brand been back order for more than a month!I've also noticed other maduro cigars from DR are also back ordered. The salesperson recommended this brand but I'll pick my own poision as it cost me twenty-four dollars to send back.Thompson gave me a prompt refund.

Not happy
I had serious construction issues with these cigars. Out of 10 only 2 burned well. Rest returned.
1 out of 5
Terrible--No taste and I could not keep it lit
I'm sending them back
2 out of 5
Taste fine but a hard draw
These taste fine. Mild to medium as described. Inexpensive enough for a daily smoke. My only problem I the draw. They are not uniform throughout. I've had difficulty lighting and significant difficulty drawing a good puff.
1 out of 5
Not a good cigar
I've purchased many good products from Thompson Cigar. This is a very bad choice.
1 out of 5
I would give it a 0 if that was an option
Out of the entire bundle there may have been 1 or 2 that I did not have to continuously light after 1 or two puffs. Very frustrating. While golfing with my dad a few days, he asked me "how I liked smoking my lighter".
3 out of 5
OK every day, given < $1 a stick
a little improvement after humidor for a few weeks, but still lighting, canoe issues.it's funny how they can be both spongy and hard in the same cigar. use a poker, you'll eat a little less filler. not the best, not the worst every day. but they make you appreciate a nice Oliva even more. .

There is a lot of tobacco here for the money!
1 out of 5
I think I probably got a bad batch.
Out of the first 10 that I tried, only 1 was good. The others would canoe and not stay lit. Had to return the box. Too bad, they sounded good in the add.

All in all a great smoke for the price. Quite a good value for the money. Every 5th or so cigar from the box burned uneven.

Very Disappointed...
Can anyone help. As I have 100 of these, at this time, un-shockable sticks.
4 out of 5
Good every day smoke
When I am pulling a 3rd and nobody is around to bother me. that is when I smoke these.
1 out of 5
I would never purchase this product again.
I usually purchase low price bundles or box of cigars for daily use. Lately with a lot of yard work I am smoking more often. I understand I am not purchasing a high quality but I never had such a bad experience as I am having with this batch. Must light many times, the end would get hard like charcoal and I have to cut the hot end off to relight. Once in a while I find one that is less of a challenge in smoking. I hope you take these off your list. I am now going to shop at other sites.

bitter taste and burns uneven. worst cigars i have ever bought from thompson.

I will never try to save money again !
This cigar is a good looking cigar from a cosmetic perspective. The veins are small and it looks to be a decent cigar for every day smoking. That being said, It is wrapped so tight, you cant draw on it. It will have to be pocked several times and that did not even hel much. It is ver tight. I tried to save money to get a decent price per smoke, however only about 1/3 of the cigars were smokable. The rest were just thrown away. Total cost was probably $3 to $4 per stick in reality.
4 out of 5
A lot of tobacco for the money
I use these cigars as chewing tobacco.
3 out of 5
Fall apart
Not bad for the price. 20% unsmokeable
2 out of 5
Hard to Draw
The main problem was the draw. Sucked myself inside out just to get them smoked.
1 out of 5
Would not recomend
Wish I had read the reviews before ordering these. I thought it was just me so I tried smoking too many to return the box. Will continue to fight with them but will definitely not order them again.

Tried 4 or 5 out of a box and found that they burned so unevenly that i had to return the box for a refund.

Thompson Explorer Churchill Habano
I look for three things in a cigar, good draw, even burn and good taste. For the price this cigar is a good buy. Decent draw, uneven burn but great taste. I would recommend this to a friend.

One of the worst cigars I ever smoked
This was one of the worst cigars I ever purchased . In fact I sent the rest of them back to you.
1 out of 5
hard draw and burns uneven
Bought a box of 50, know they were inexpensive cigars. However very dissapointed in 60% of the them burned uneven and some loose leafs.
1 out of 5
O my god
This is one of the most nasty cigars I have ever had very bitter
2 out of 5
Varied color and hard to draw
Smoke 1 daily while golfing.. Have really enjoyed these in the past, but they're too hard to smoke, I like easy draw
1 out of 5
Won't be buying these again
these are a chore to smoke. the binder does not burn. they burn down the middle leaving binder and wrapper to collapse inward toward the ash. They appear to be rolled with the cuttings from the floor, as I spend more time spitting bits out than smoking the cigar. Can't recommend them to anyone.
1 out of 5
NOT GOOD
Would no stay lit and when it did it burned down the middle. I've ordered these in the past but not again. It was a waste of my money...
3 out of 5
Okay Smoke
Good price and I guess you get what you pay for, but not an even burn, have to use the lighter to burn off wrapper that didn't burn while smoking.
2 out of 5
1 out of 3 is a real stinker, burns poor
This probably a good product for the price, 2 out 3 is pretty good odds.
3 out of 5
cheap cigars
lets face it cheap is what most of us disabled vet's can afford. if you dont like yours and throwing in trash send them to me. will give at least poastage( wereinak at the yahoo). other wise will purchase when its affordable. and with the rise of all prices it won't be soon. thank you
1 out of 5
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
Simply put... you get what you pay for- tried to cheat and get this relatively good price on this box of cigars- Nope. The draw is near impossible... nothing like getting a headache trying to draw on this cigar when you're just trying to relax and enjoy it, and they won't stay lit...tried to work with the cigar and even ran a punch through them to allow more air-nope. Tried this with 5 of them- gave up..... the rest are going in the trash. My advice, pay the extra money for the good cigars and save yourself the frustration and the HEADACHE. I'l stick with my Arturo y Fuentes.
2 out of 5
Lite me up
It keeps going out and hard to keep lit
3 out of 5
Change for the worse
I have enjoyed these for years. This last box is poor quality. Hard to keep lit, bitter taste and falls apart. I am considering sending them back.

If you like mild; this is it
It is very smooth to the palate. I truly enjoy the savoring flavor I get with each drag.

Disappointed
This is the second large order that I have placed. Both orders arrived in less than fresh condition. I am very disappointed but I guess you get what you pay for. I store all of my cigars in a humidor but have not figured out how to hydrate stale cigars. I probably will not order these cigars in the future.
3 out of 5
not to bebought again
you have to suck the back of your neck off to get anything out of them, wrappers are of poor quality and don't hold up through the entire smoking of the cigar

Explorer Churchill

THOMPSON...CHURCHILL REVIEW...EXPLORER.
OVERALL A GREAT CIGAR...ITS VERY AFFORDABLE AND EASY TO SMOKE, A VERY NICE CHURCHILL CIGAR..THE EXPLORER.....CHRIS....10/15/13..I RECOMMEND THIS CIGAR TO ANYONE....NICE...I LIKE IT..AND WILL ORDER MORE IN THE FUTURE...THIS CIGAR IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES FOR THE PRICE....
3 out of 5
OK for the price.
Ordered these when my usual cigar was out of stock. The price is right but there are issues. The wrapper is not well constructed, and these do not burn even. They did improve after sitting in the humidor for a while. For the price can't complain too much. I would recommend these but with details.

"A perfect favor for a baby shower"
I gave my daughter a baby shower! And wanted to invite men as well as women so I needed a favor for men! I decided on real cigars! The Churchill habano were perfect they loved it so much! The men really appreciate the mild taste and aroma ! I bought a case for a really good price!

Excellent everyday cigar
For my last order I did not receive the whole order. Upon calling customer service, I got a very professional response. Thompson Cigars sent the missing product with no questions asked. Great service!!!

too much whix
I have smoked cigars for years after smoking these my taste buds have almost gone away. Don't really understand why.
4 out of 5
Exciting. Eye catching.
I like it as a cigar to use on the golf courses I play.
4 out of 5
Explore these
Use daily smokes clean.
3 out of 5
Fair smoke
I smoke 1 or 2 cigars each day and find the Churchill Explorer to be an acceptable smoke for the price although 50% or more of the cigars could use a poker to get a decent draw. The flavor is variable. The ring gauge is very variable so, some are tight and some are loose. Filler is not very consistent so, construction is variable, too. The wrapper and cap are very thin on 30 or 40% which makes punching a chore. The cigar is okay, only. I would recommend it to a friend with full comments to be sure they know what they are buying.
4 out of 5
Lasts long and strong.
This cigar is big, starts off mild but is plenty robust by the halfway point. For when you have the time and want to savor a bold smoke.
5 out of 5
Good Smokes!!!
I love to smoke a cigar every night in my backyard it really is relaxing! These are GREAT CIGARS!!
5 out of 5
no problems for this mild cigar
pleasant smoke, the wife likes the aroma
2 out of 5
A Compromise
A good tasting cigar but a very tight draw on most sticks makes it hard to light and repeated relighting really lessens the enjoyment of the cigar.
3 out of 5
Easy smoke
Love how easy of a smoke it is but, not happy that every one I've smoked burns unevenly.
2 out of 5
Happy Until Recent Order
I've been happy enough with this decent, inexpensive smoke, but lately they are spongey, uncured and hard to keep lit. Maybe they were selling TOO well? If you don't want to canoe your way through life, be prepared to let these sit for awhile.
2 out of 5
I buy them because they are cheaper
I SMOKE SEVERAL CIGAR DAILY AND,AT FIRST, THEY WERE GREAT BUT BY THE THIRD BOX OF 1OO THEY BEGAN TO BURN UNEVEN (WAY TOO MANY TIMES) AND THEY WOULD NOT LIGHT. VERY UNHAPPY WITH PERFORMANCE BUT THEY ARE PRICED REASONALBLE.
2 out of 5
Tastes great but burns lousy
This cigar tastes great but burns rather unevenly and difficult to keep lite because of this. Inconsistant draw. Some drew and smoked easily while others were difficult to draw.
1 out of 5
They are the worst cigars I have ever..
Will not stay lite...Don't burn evenly..Wrapper comes apart easly...Had to throw away 10% of the ones I've smoked so far....

Great Adventure in smoking a Churchill..
the churchill is a wonderful smoke.....it makes friends easily when I offer it as a way of bonding ...makes good connections.....a must for me to have....
3 out of 5
Good average everyday smoke
Good for the price, you get what you pay for here. They are fair priced for what they are, just a average everyday smoke.
4 out of 5
Great smoke
Grabbed a 50 count box of these when they were on special. Glad I did. I am no expert, but I enjoy a good smoke daily and would whole heartedly recommend these as an everyday / commute into work smoke. The only bad point I can think of is that they seem to be thrown together fastly and cheaply, which may contribute to the loose packing. On the lighter side, that makes for an easy draw ha ha!
3 out of 5
An Economical Smoke
The uneven burn is my greatest concern. All other qualities of the cigar are quite acceptable.
4 out of 5
Buy this product again
I really have nothing to add
4 out of 5
Awesome cigar at an Awesome price.
What a great deal on a huge box of great smokes! Flavor is great and consistent thru almost half the box so far. With prices going up every day it's a steal.

Not Worthy of the Thompson Name
My last purchase of a 100-box of the church-hills was disappointing and not what I have to come to expect from a stick with the Thompson name on it. The ones I smoked were from Indonesia and it appears most of your line is as well.I am going to move to something that I have had more consistent results with in the past.
1 out of 5
Not for me
no suggestion on use. not anything good about this cigar. taste bad, burns uneven, waste a lighter trying to keep it lit.
4 out of 5
Would buy this product again & again
Very pleased with this particular product.
