This is a full bodied, some would say strong, cigar. There's truly no other like this beauty by Punch. I've sampled scores upon scores of great cigars but I've only smoked maybe 8 or ten brands over the past 35 years consistently. The Punch Pita is so exceptional that it's been my primary stick for nearly fifteen of those years. If you want a relaxing light smoke, this one is NOT for you. But if boldness and heft mean something to you, this is a good 45 min, porch sitting, good bourbon, conversation-time smoke. Or, if your like me, it's all of that *and* it's my driving anywhere choice – even if I'm just working around the place driving the tractor. WC

The Budweiser of cigars. You always know what you're going to get. They're very good and a great value.

I am finding these cigars have more thick leaf stem which make the cigar tunnel. I didn't have that happening in previous boxes. I have encountered that with other brands. Also the wrap leaf is thin and Featherly. It separates rather easily. Otherwise it smokes.

This Honduran blend with an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper is one of my daily favorites. This particular one has a sturdy crown, a rough foot and some mottles along the wrapper edge toward the foot. Typically they are featured but elegant. Today, it's reddish brown wrapper is just a little bumpy but even in coloring. The sturdy construction holds up well on my windy patio. The first draws are cedar and pepper at full flavor and usually it never backs off. It's complex and sophisticated without being obtuse. Toward the middle I get honey, leather, and coffee hints. Nothing strong. The burn stays even, piling up stripes of white ash which falls to a cone at the first third. So far, so good. And the flavor picks up even more here. I really enjoy giving these to new cigar smokers and experienced aficionados. Nearly the entire line is a great smoke. And well worth the price. I can't name a time of day I prefer them. Some cigars are definitely for after dinner or end of the day, others are great with coffee at daybreak. These are great at nearly all times and nearly all conditions. Halfway through now and the flavor hasn't faltered. It's giving off great hits and I'm remembering why I bought a full box of these recently. Yes, I need to fill the ridiculously large humidor my wife got me for my birthday, but I want to do it right. I'm not just going to stuff it with any old sticks. One day, I want to visit the factory and meet the people who roll these. I want to thank them. As we round the bend on this one I'm noticing a possible run and set it down for a moment to even out. Okay, it's cooled down and the tar is building up. I'm completely satisfied by this smoke and there's still three inches to go. Removing the band I'm just nursing this thing now, sipping small perfect drags off the crown here and there. Sometimes the tingling on my tongue reminds me of champagne. Actually, almost every time. I think it's the combination of tobaccos and the way they roll them.

If you steer an aircraft carrier up the Potomac it would get noticed. That's the effect of a Punch Pita--it gets noticed. When TCC intones "...probably not your first cigar," I take it to mean Punch is best smoked when all the lessers have been sorted through. The foremost of the premier qualities (of so many gret qualities) of the Pita is its easy draw: effortless, with chewy clouds of gratifying smoke: spicey, dry, pure flavor and aroma. The firm construction stands up to the hour or more of handling you'll need to conquer this titan. The Punch Pita is everything a cigar should be (like most Punch styles): well-behaved, flavorful, challenging but not rude, pleasant and full of zip, dependable. I've smoked a thousand Punch cigars over the years and I never had to leave one behind due to an issue. The Pita is certainly one of the top five cigars I've ever smoked (and that includes Havanas).
