Worst purchase ever!
PDR is usually a good brand but this these were the worst sticks from the start until I had to throw the rest out. I smoked the first after lettings it rest for 2 weeks and it was horrible. I waited another 2 weeks to smoke the second and it was just as bad. At this point I had to make a decision. Return the rest for credit or give them another shot. I gave them another shot and these are just plain dog rockets! I even waited a few more weeks and no change. They smell like plastic burning. Yuck.

Very poor construction. Not worth the effort

Very good cigar for the money
Midium body, great flavor. Very good cigar and very good price!

I won't ever buy again
The very first on out of the bundle when I got them, the wrapper was falling apart. it was like tissue paper.Since then they don't seem to have the filler rolled tight enough, so they burn odd . I'll never buy these again.

I would buy this cigar again and again!
I use this product on the weekends. They were and are a great smoke!

Great Inexpensive Smoke
I alternate between about three cigars. This is one of my favorite ones.

PDR Value Line Reserve Toro Maduro
I went through the reviews before purchasing, amidst the myriad of negative comments (wrapper comes apart, terrible draw, etc,,,) I decided to purchase anyway. And boy, these do not disappoint! Not only have I none of the errors in others' comments, I've found these to be truly excellent cigars. What an amazing bargain! The trick to not to cut the head too deeply.

Yes I would buy agauin
Nice cigar. I took with me when I went out
3 out of 5
Good flavor poor construction
I'll start by saying it has a nice smooth flavor and good draw and for the price a decent smoke however it did not want to burn evenly and the wrapper was coming apart a little towards the top
4 out of 5
Good Everyday Smoke
Good value in a everyday cigar. The flavor has been a little inconsistent.
3 out of 5
Not a good value
I tried this cigar in the PDR VLR Sampler, and was very impressed. However, when I ordered the bundle, I discovered that the "value" was not so great, since most of the cigars in the bundle burned right up the middle, wasting a great deal of the cigar. Will not buy again.
5 out of 5
outstanding value.
Just got these last week, and I was really surprised with the taste. Will be one of my fav's, to reorder.

Great bang for the buck!
These are my everyday smoke. I haven't found a better smoke for the price. My humidor has some higher price sticks but I usually fire up a PDR on the weekend.

The cigar had a great taste but the wrapper seemed to come apart and ended up wasting a lot of cigars

PDR Del Rio Value Line Reserve Toro Maduro
After clipping the end off about 15% of the sticks would begin to unravel and I had to discard them. another 10% would unravel as I smoked them. not up to PDR's standards. I orders these as a fill in because my favorite PDR cigars were not available.

I would buy them
Good everyday smoke

Great taste for me

Not a good smoke or value
I bought these in a sampler pack of the PDR Value Line, and while the rest of the PDR Value Line is a great deal, the maduro wrapper leaves a bad taste in your mouth. They are poorly constructed, hard to draw, and are harsh and reminiscent of burning hay laced with manure. Not the maduro flavor that one would expect. Attempted to smoke 3 before disposing of the remainder. I would not recommend.
4 out of 5
A tastey smoke with a good finish...
I like the flavor....I lose 8~10 cigars out of every 25..because they unravel...PDR`s better cigars don`t do this....But a good cigar for the price. I wish Thompson shipped faster. 4 days after ordering an item in stock...THEN I get an email saying it has shipped....

Justifies only a rating of "Fair"
These start out with an easy draw but after a bit, the draw becomes more and more difficult. It requires a Draw Poker device to open it up.

Disappointing Cigar but Good Flavor
I worked in a tobacco shop while in college. As a result, I have had the pleasure of smoking many high end cigars. These days I tend to smoke less expensive cigars. That said, I am no longer a cigar snob. I look for cigars that can be used as a daily smoker. My first experience with these cigars came from a sampler. I found them to be a good tasting cigar that started mild and gave a good taste throughout the smoke. Sadly, the inconsistent wrappers and rolling I found when I purchased a quantity leaves me disappointed. The wrappers tend to "crack" as you smoke them causing difficulties with the draw. The rolling quality is also inconsistent. The caps also came undone (I use a guillotine cutter) These problems occurred in about 30% of the cigars. That said, they had good flavor and except for a couple, I was able to smoke them all the way to the last inch. For my money, there are better cigars available.

good stuff
nice long smoke w/ good flavor, big enough to withstand a breeze while fishing

Disappointed
Harsh taste, wrapper issues. Very inexpensive but for me still not a value.

I love the flavor of this product. Whenever I share these with friends they also rave about the flavor

good everyday smokes
Smoke several of these a day.price can't be beat, but you will tend to lose some of the quality pricier cigars can offer.

I will buy this product again and again
This is one o the most favorable cigars I have ever smoked. Very easy to light and excellent draw.

Great budget cigar
Great everyday smoke. Budget friendly value cigar. Excellent flavor from a medium body maduro with earthy notes and a bit of pepper. Wrapper imperfections and some minor issues with unraveling near the cap but not bad. I've bought several bundles of these cigars and they've become a staple in my humidor.
4 out of 5
'oily' maduro w/ fillers are a delight
a good turn around from Point of Sale to delivery

great cigar for the value.
good cigar with plenty of flavor.enjoy smoking one after a long day of working.even burn ,nice aroma, and pairs well with a amber beer.give as a gift to friends who enjoy a good maduro. only a few (2 or 3)of the 25 bundle had wrapper imperfections, but that didn't hinder the performance any.would put these in my humidor again.

Good Smoke at a Good Price
These are really good for the price. I have smoked much more expensive cigars, that aren't as good as these. The ones that I have now are the first of these that I've ever smoked, but either I got a really good batch or they are just keepers.
3 out of 5
I am buying more of these...
Not a bad everyday smoke. best when you might not be able to finish it. Price point is great advantage..
4 out of 5
these are a great buy
for the money well worth it, great flavor, some imperfections, nothing serious. i like the maduro myself and have bought the camaron also. will buy some more and more lol
4 out of 5
Darn good and tasty.
I put these in the humi for about 3 days before I smoked. The first 3 I smoked almost turned me off: wrappers came undone, tunneled on 1 and uneven burning on the 2nd and 3d. I have smoked 16 out of the bundle so far and so far so good. Excellent flavor, nice spice to it. I suggest using a punch on these. I will say these things smoke. A lot. I mean, constant dense smoke. I mean lots of smoke like your buddy next door might think something is wrong lots of smoke. Overall, I love them for my everyday smoke. Hard to do here up in the Dakotas in the winter, but when I light one of these up, it reminds me of spring time and summer. Very tasty and well done for the price.

Great Smoke!!!!
This was a great smoke for the money! While the flavor was a little bolder than I am use to, it did not get in the way of a relaxing smoke.

Exceptional value for the price.

PDR Reserve
I smoke these cigars typically after a good meal and some coffee. It has a very good flavor with a touch of sweet dark maduro flavor. It is a great smoke for the price! It is a mild/medium strength cigar. The only drawback to it is the occasional falling out at the tip of the fillers or tobacco cuttings from inside. As you bite on it sometimes they can loosen up and come out but not very often.
3 out of 5
Not bad for the price
These smokes are ok. They have some construction issues. The wrappers sometimes fall apart or have holes in the leaves which make it a little hard for a consistent draw. I would recommend them as a cheap everyday smoke. The flavor is pretty good.
5 out of 5
Great Cigar!
I smoke these daily. Great cigar, especially for the price.
3 out of 5
great everyday smoke
this is a good everyday smoke. some of the caps come off but overall worth the money

Not good
Just thought I would try these cigars and it was a terrible mistake.
2 out of 5
Just so so
The cigars were very dry, even though I started smoking them right after receiving them. The flavor is not that great, rather bitter. Lots of small pieces flake off in your mouth while smoking. Like everything else, you get what you pay for.

I usually end the work day with a fine cigar. very smooth , good flaver , no after bite . found nothing bad about it , enjoyable !!!!!!

Burns a bit fast, but other lines of PDR are wrapped tightly

THE PINAR DEL RIO IS VERY POORLY MADE.
I LIKE AN IN EXPENSIVE CIGAR THAT COMES IN BOX OF 50 LIKER THE CUESTA REY CAROUSEL DARK.

GREAT CIGAR!!
my father loved these, i will be ordering them again for him, especially with the holidays right around the corner.
5 out of 5
Good Flavor & Value
Nice rich flavor for a very small price. They do have a double band which makes the smoking end of the cigar potentially shorter than it would be otherwise. I suspect that has something to do with maintaining the construction but found one or both bands can be removed if you want to "smoke through" that portion of the cigar, which I sometime do, without incident.
4 out of 5
Top Dark Cigar for the money
I have enjoyed the Pinar Del Rio premium cigars and thought I would try the value line. The cigars are excellent everyday smokes for the lovers of dark maduros.
4 out of 5
Excellent Everyday Smoke!
Great inexpensive cigar, was impressed enough to order a second pack for myself and one for a friend as a gift. I hand them out when I am hanging out with the guys, and they are fooled into thinking I'm breaking the bank for these things!
4 out of 5
Good Smoke and free shipping too!!!
I keep coming back to this cigar because of the free shipping but really enjoy all of the PDR's I have tried. The shipping is just an added bonus.

Very good taste/ pure enjoyment for everyday budget.

A good stick for the price
The quality to price ratio is about even. Not a bad smoke.
5 out of 5
Good product for an affordable price.
I'm just very happy with the quality of them. Good clean white madro ash, easy draw. Great fragrance and flavor as well. I've had some more higher end brands and these are just as good and even better in the fact that they are consistent.
4 out of 5
great
Bought this as a filler for my humidor. These were better than the cigars that I bought at my local smoke shop. Wrappers are a little inconsistant but overall very pleased.

Eh... Not so much
Just not my taste. The Cameroon wrapper is great... This one just didn't do it for me. If you like a harsh and heavy smoke that lingers... Give this one a try

good to the last puff
enjoyed sitting outside with a glass of wine and a good smoke!
3 out of 5
not bad, not amazing
seems that this could be a much better cigar. it has some issues with burning evenly and staying lit. the flavor is just fine, mellow and smooth. i personally get frustrated when i have to keep relighting because only half of my stogie is burning and this cigar has that happen rather consistantly if you dont keep puffng away, its not made for breaks of more than a minute or two. its become what i smoke when im working in the garage or mowing the lawn.
4 out of 5
Great smoke for the price!
I like a maduro wrapper on a Friday night with a glass of red wine.
4 out of 5
A nice everyday stick
This is en exceptional everyday cigar for under a dollar each. I was not expecting much from them & was quite surprised with the quality & flavor. They were a bit dry upon delivery, a few days in the humidor cured that & I am very happy with them. I will order more!
4 out of 5
good cigar for money
second order. fine flavor
4 out of 5
A good cigar for everyday
They seem to be a little on the dry side, but should get better with some time in the humidor. On the strong side, but then so are most Maduro's, so if you like them mild, it might not be for you. I will order them again
3 out of 5
very average cigar
Taste was very inconsistent --many wrapper blemishes-
1 out of 5
Not So Good a Cigar
I wouldn't get this cigar if it wasn't for the free shipping deal when bought with another preferred cigar. It burns very uneven and I have to continually correct it by burning off the uneven part. The foot falls apart.
4 out of 5
Good Value
I first tried these in the PDR Sampler. I like all of those but keep buying the Maduro.
3 out of 5
good cigar for the price, i guess
this cigar is ok i guess. i may or may not buy again. for the price i guess it is good, but not what i would consider a must buy. inconsistant draw and flavor. also 2 out of 20 had the wrappers come appart while smoking. bold and peppery flavor, but harsh and hot at the end. i will smoke the rest and probably enjoy them but not sure if i would recommend them.
4 out of 5
A very enjoyable smoke
A cigar you would pass on to a friend and be proud of it.
3 out of 5
Inconsistant wrapper issues
Really good inexpensive cigars, first 25 were great - including construction. I was disappointed with the second bundle. Not as well made as the first bundle. Wrapper on many of the cigars split or came off all together.
4 out of 5
A Good Everyday Cigar
A very good everyday cigar; driving the convertible, working in the garden, sitting on the back deck with some fine scotch at the end of the day, etc.
4 out of 5
outstanding price
these are a great everyday smoke
3 out of 5
Great buy for the $$$
Great flavor, burns a little rough. The final third gets a bit warm. On the flip side it's not a razor sharp burn but not horrible. One issue I found with them is if you cut deeper then 1/16th inch the cap tends to fray a bit. Other than burn and cut these are a great for an everyday cigar.
1 out of 5
Not Good
The bundle I received was awful. Almost every cigar was constructed too tight to actually smoke, and the ones that were smoke-able tasted like paper. Not satisfying at all. I literally threw them away. The Pinar Del Rio Oscuro is fabulous, but I wouldn't waste your money on these.
4 out of 5
About the Best under 3.00 stick around!
Chocolatey, with a toast and slight earth note.Nice through the nose.Smooth, easy draw, very nice burn and flavor that advances through the 1 1/2 hour pleasure. For the price, you can not go wrong
4 out of 5
Good everyday smoke
Good value Maduro stick. These have become one of my staple everyday smokes. I've noticed some of the same flaws some of the other reviewrs have, but they have been few and far between. Flavor has been a very consistent medium maduro. The only negative I've found is the same with every mixed-filler, loose tobacco 'crumbs'. But, you'll find this with all mixed-fillers. I will continue to buy these.

I will buy from again
I am a pipe smoker, but sometimes I do enjoy smoking a good madura cigar. I will purchase cigars in future.

Great Cigar for the Price
As a fan of the 1878 line, I'd have to say that the PDR Value line delivers the flavor of its big brother at a value.

Good , everyday cigar! Great for kicking back and enjoying a smoke.

It's the taste that counts, not the band
Great to have a few with some good buds and not breaking the bank.

kind of disappointed, even at this price
Very inconsistent flavor and construction issues. Burns haphazard. One will be great the next might be a [*].
4 out of 5
Great Smoke
I was a PDR fan prior to purchasing the VLR maduro and I wasn't disappointed. A great everyday smoke that is a bargain. I wish they came in a 60 x 6 but for the price I will certainly make these a regular in my shopping cart.
3 out of 5
Beyond value.
Before I ordered this buldle, I received 2 in the Maduro Madness sampler II, and was very suprised at the flavor and quality. I really did not expect much from a "Value" line cigar; however, I was pleased from start to finish, although there was an underlying bite to it.
5 out of 5
Excellent smoke.all my friends agree.
Will alway's order from Thomson Cigars if the $$$$$$ is right. Enjoy the customer service. Keep up the great work.
3 out of 5
Good every day smoke.
Good every day smoke. I had occasional construction or wrapper issues at the end of the smoke, but still a great value smoke.
1 out of 5
Poor Quality
I will not buy this product again. Typically wasting half of the cigar to get an even burn. One side burns the other side does not... poor quality.
4 out of 5
Super Smoke!!
I purchased these based on the other reviews and they are dead on..this is a great Maduro. Tastes and burns like a premium cigar from DR. Plan to take a bundle of these bad boys to Deer Camp in a couple weeks!!! Thanks Thompson for fast shipping and great values.
4 out of 5
great flavor, firm draw
GOOD VERY DAY CIGAR
1 out of 5
inconsistant , harsh tast
Smoked about 4 over a period of time then threw the remainder away.
3 out of 5
Great Price but Not the Quality I hoped.
It was an everyday smoke for me. These were OK but the torpedos were the best. Some wrapper flaws and tended to be harsh at the end. But that may be me since I am puffer.
4 out of 5
Good flavor and a nice smoke.
Nice, consistent smoke
3 out of 5
Not Bad
I smoke at least one cigar a day. I love a good maduro. I have mixed feelings about this one. Inconsistant taste, and an uneven burn.
4 out of 5
PDR Maduro Toro
Double bands are not needed. I know it's a Maduro and the band was difficult to remove without damaging the wrapper even after smoked to the edge of the band. Great cigar for the money but like others have stated... use a punch.
4 out of 5
Good cigar for the price
A good flavorful cigar overall. Good value for the price. Smoke a few per week. Almost every time I cut the end off with my cutters the wrapper comes apart. It looks like the wrapper and the cigar itself may be too dry. I store them in a humidor but the results are the same. That is the only thing I don't like about the cigar, otherwise, I do recommend this cigar.
4 out of 5
Pleasantly surprised
Excellent cigar for the money, if you enjoy a moderately bold flavor. The only "draw"-back being, as previously mentioned by a fellow reviewer, was the loose tobacco, which consistently is pulled into the mouth. Of course, this is typical (and to be expected) of a combination filler. A punch cutter would certainly reduce this pitfall, however.
2 out of 5
get what you pay for
recommend to punch cap lots of loose tobacco. light in weight, lumpy, imperfections, loose roll, soft. taste makes up for it but its just decent. good handout cigar for those who want to try cigars. though great price.
4 out of 5
Stop looking
excellent maduro smoke, priced for everyday use, sit back and enjoy a Pinar del Rio.

Enjoyable Anywhere, Anytime!.....
This is a stick that will NEVER dissapoint you! From the cap to the nub, you can't put it down. I enjoy these in my recliner by the fireplace, or sitting at the cigar lounge chatting with friends. It's a heavenly stick with rich bold flavor, that's simply delicious! Don't let the price fool you, these are a real bargin for the bundle. I'm going to stock my humidor, and I suggest you should too!

Great everyday smoke. I thought it was an [$] cigar - great value.

Not bad for the price.
Smoke 2-3 cigars a day, fair smoke for the price. Leave my money for better smokes in the evening.

More than I usually spend but worth it
Has a good wrapper. smokes smooth
