I have purchased a great deal of cigars this year from Thompson. I'm very dissatisfied. I would say that a third of my orders had cigars of poor quality. I didn't complain until 1/2 of my order was of poor quality. They just offered a coupon worth a tenth of what I had been ordering.

Have only tried about 10 so far. Texture and flavor were excellent but too much inconsistency with the draw. In a few the draw was excellent but too many did not allow for an enjoyable smoke!

I am a mellow cigar smoker, Lord Nelson is in that category, however, I found this time a bitterness unlike I never tasted before in previous occasion when I ordered the same cigar, also, as I smoked it begun to peel and some had a hard draw, but over all it was okay, something I could tolerate. Thank you.

Very mild and smooth . Easy draw and an even burn. I smoke occasionally and will share these with friends as well. My friends are impressed with them as well. They are very happy to receive them. The smell of the cigar smoke doesn’t overpower as some others are almost offensive. I’ll buy more.

I tried a few samplers to find what I really like. These are smooth and mild. I noticed that while others started out nice, they would start to turn bitter at different stages of the smoke. The Lord Nelson stayed smooth, not harsh, much longer. Construction is always perfect. I smoke these, the Portofino, or the Hampton Court depending on the time and activity. I don't smoke a lot of cigars. But it doesn't get much better than sitting on the dock with a glass of port and one of these after a great dinner. I've tried a number of other Dominicans of the same size to save $ as these are a little high. But you really do get what you pay for and they're worth every penny.

Macanudo was my first foray into hand-wrapped cigars years ago. They are a good smooth smoke, burn evenly, nice ash.

Smooth & Mild from lighting to the last inch

Thompson Cigar's Macanudo Gold Label is a better cigar than Cigar International's Macanudo Gold Label Lord Nelson, although it's a good cigar itself. Thompson's MGL is smoother and does not have "bite."

I keep buying this cigar, again & again

The diameter is smaller than what I am used to with my regular cigar resulting in a quicker burn. I tried something different this time around. Like my regular cigars better.

I smoked a Macanudo at my oldest sons College Graduation Party 15 years ago and have been smoking them ever since. I also learned that My Buddy Rush Limbaugh Smokes Macanudo's as well. If they are good enough for him, they are good enough for me.

I am an Ashton cigar fan, but when I tried a gold label, I was surprised and impressed. A cigar equal to Ashton for less money...I will continue to buy both

A fantastic smoke even for a beginner. I smoked this Macanudo and it took 1 hour of enjoyable time to complete. A bit pricey, but I can understand why. While smoking the Lord Nelson cigar, it didn't even burn my nostrils.

Never have bad products from Thomsons products.
