Considering this cigar was 2012 cigar of the year, it's got a lot to live up to, and it doesn't disappoint. For me, the cigar was full bodied. It's a bit strong for my personal taste, but it is definitely a great cigar with lots of flavor. Box press is nice and draw was excellent. This cigar is perfect for special occasions, and makes a great gift too.

Was introduced to My Fathers Cigars and the Flor De Las Antillas Toro Sun Grown at a local cigar bar. Found it to be a very satisfying smoke. Bought a box to share at my daughters wedding and have been smoking them regularly (about 3 a week) since then. Never overpowering. Nice smooth smoke.

Good lord this smoke is good! I got my first one as a gift, and enjoyed with some friends. I soon after sought out a box of my own to let mellow in my humidor. The flavor is cedary, with a touch of mild chocolate and heavy cream throughout. Complex, but not overwhelmingly so through the duration of the smoke. You don't have to be a connosieur to enjoy this. Nor do you have to dig deep for the scrumptious flavor and tasting notes. The build is unparalleled, and the smoke billowed from the initial lighting. Do yourself a favor and buy some.

I went through about 3 boxes of these. I stopped buying them all togwther because of consistency issues. Some cigars would be so tight you couldnt even smoke it while others would be WAY too loose. The wrappers also started falling apart. I have since switched to Padron Anniv. cigars. I will not really ever buy these again. They seemed to have sacrificed quality for quantity.

What works for me best is to give these cigars time to rest in my humidor, about 2 weeks. I have purchased these cigars at a local shop and when smoked immediately the taste and burn were such that I swore never to buy another. But, I purchased a 5 pack from Thompson and gave them one more chance. After letting them rest a couple of weeks the transformation was amazing. My favorite is Padron exclusive maduro so this cigar is very different but when I'm in the mood for something lighter in taste the Flor de las Antillas is my go to cigar. My only problem is the constant backorder situation.

I was looking for some cigars for my daughter's wedding reception. After seeing the cigar won top honors for the year 2012 (wedding was April 2013)I bought 20 and thought timing and availability couldn't be better. The tobacconist gave me one to try so I wouldn't have to break mine open. After my smoke the cigars never made it to the reception. I kept them for myself. It is now my favorite cigar and glad to see TC is carrying it. I just ordered another box.

I understand that this cigar was rated number 1 on a blind taste test, but I was not impressed with this at all. The taste was bitter and had a horrible after taste. It lit well but it felt like a cheap cigar smoking it. I actually only smoked a third of it before putting it down. There's cigars with the same price point that would smoke this cigar down past the top 100. Go and pick up a Liga Prirada T52 or Oliva Serie V Melanio Maduro and tell everyone the dramatic difference in all aspects. Hopefully this was just a fluke and maybe I just got a bad cigar. I smoke one to two premiums daily so maybe my expectations are too high for this cigar to hit. Buy with caution as you might be disappointed. I hope this helps another from throwing money at a less-than-par cigar.

A very good cigar. It is one of those cigars that you can smoke from the start to the finish and as you smoke it just gets better. It was hard for me to put it down. This and the La Aroma De Cuba Mi Amore Box Pressed Maduro Belicosa are my favorites. It has a good draw and gets more complex as you smoke it.
