nothing good about them, after trying 10 cigars I was so frustrated that I put them in the garbage where they belonged, really gave me a bad taste for Thompson Cigars, however I do continue to purchase from them only will never go for their so-called "bargins"

The packaging, whether it's the manufacturer or Thompson needs to do a better job to prevent breakage

I enjoy Don Rafael cigars. They always have a great flavor and they well constructed.

Smoke this cigar in the morning and at night.Price point makes this so desirable,combined with aroma,flavor, fit and finish...Only problem is occasionally you'll get a runner maybe 10 outta 80 but this isn't a top shelf cigar.

I would buy these again, and recommend them to friends. These are good for an everyday smoke. They have a mild, smooth, consistent flavor, easy to light, they burn evenly, and have a good draw. Undamaged wrapper with no construction issues. The price makes it a good value.

After reading all the reviews I thought how could I go wrong. I love an inexpensive, everyday smoke for working in the yard and out on the boat. I must say I was really disappointed in these. This is one of those true "you get what you pay for" deals. The taste is ok but inconsistent. They look and feel like kids made them from floor scraps and the worst part is that they are so loosely filled. About halfway through the smoke, the end will be so mushy in your mouth it's almost unsmokable. It literally will fall apart. It's like having a cigar and a dip in your mouth at the same time. And because they're so loosely filled, they burn quick. You'll smoke 3 of these in the time it takes to mow a small yard. I'll smoke the ones I bought but will not order these again and I would not recommend them.

These things have a tolerable flavor, nothing to write home about. The real issue is construction, these cigars feel like they are going to fall sort. Backwoods are constructed better than these, if that tells you anything.

Was pleasantly surprised at the great flavor of these small smokes. Have ordered many times and have not been disappointed. The past order was less flavorful though. Never a construction issue or hard draw in the bunch. Great for everyday. Wish they lasted longer

Loose construction alright for work smokes

These cigars can arrive soaking wet or very dry. You need to prepare to fix either extreme.

These really weren't what I had in mind. I got Don Rafael Connecticuts as part of a Victor Sinclair sampler and was so pleased that I ordered these. The ring gauge was smaller, they have a sweet tip, and just didn't taste the way I expected a Connecticut to taste. I gave four stars because they're good for what they are, just not what I was looking for.

I use 4 to 5 Don Rafael Fumas daily. They are usually a consistently rolled cigar. The problems have been in the warehouse; soaking wet or way too dry. Sometimes full of worm holes. Too often out of stock. The staff is unable to give adequate response.

OK, so lets admit this cigar will not get a 90+ rating on any of the cigar forums currently popular and focus on what it is. At a cost of .71 cents per stick it is an excellent value for a short smoke. I make that "short smoke" comment because here in Chicago it gets pretty chilly in the winter and that is what I use these for. Also in the summer riding my lawn mower in hot humid conditions, this is a perfect companion. I have purchased Magellan Dominicans from another source for many years and have been unable to do so lately which gave rise to this purchase. This cigar burns longer than what I used to purchase and also has much better flavor. I have found after smoking 5 of them, my new short smoke!

I've tried all three versions of the Don Rafael fumas (regular, sweet and maduro). All are loosely packed. All burn fast and hot. They work out to $0.62 per stick (not including shipping). This is a cheap smoke that I do not recommend. Even for beginning cigar smokers, get closer to a $2 stick and you'll get a much better value for the money.

It's a good every day cigar that won't put you in the poor house. The wrapper is a little thin and filler a bit soft, but it has a good flavor, burns evenly, and stays consistent. It's not a 90 rated smoke, but a very good value.

I sometimes like a shorter smoke than my usual toro or torpedo size, and these Don Rafael lonsdales punch the ticket. I have thoroughly enjoyed most every Victor Sinclair and Don Rafael variety I have tried over the years, and these rank up there with my other favorites from Jose Dominguez. I'd gladly recommend them for puttering around outside or enjoying an indoor game of cards.

Anything above $.60 per smoke for this cigar would be too much for an every-day-smoker to pay for this cigar.

It's a great everyday smoke, nice draw, most of the time burns nice and even. I kind of like the loose wrapper makes it for a nice easy draw. I have many favorites, but this one has to be one of my faves when it comes to a light smoke, mild, with an excellent taste. Have a little black coffee and it will bring out the vanilla tones in it. Really satisfies me when I am in between smokes, or when I am busy and really can't sit down and enjoy one. I get a lot of enjoyment from these guys threw out a busy day, and again even though the wrapper is loose it really holds together well. Stays lit, but if you do ignore it a little to long, lights right back up with no harsh taste and I usually smokes to the end.

I recently wrote a fairly harsh review on this cigar when I'd not smoked very many. After smoking about 20, I now think they are an good value for the price. Once I reminded myself that they are not Rocky Patels, 5 Vegas or La Flor Dominicana cigars, I've now decided they are a pretty decent cigar for a cost conscious buyer like me.

Overall this is a very nice smoke, flavor is excellent. Had the opportunity to try the sweet Don over the weekend and they were very good. My only minor issue was the wrapping although they still smoked very well and still get top billing in smoke ability.

Good inexpensive every day smoke

This is great for me as I am outdoors for short periods of time. I have experienced only a few with wrapper problems. Would buy again and if you are a new cigar smoker it is an inexpensive way to stock up on smokes.

I have one of these in my mouth during the day b/c you don't have anything cheaper to smoke. I'd prefer a greater ring size and a smoke that stays lit.

I bought these cigars on sale as a possible replacement for the smaller and more costly Magellan Dominicans I've purchased in bundles of 100 several times. I Like to smoke a smaller cigar when I am short on time. For now, I think I'll stick with the Magellan Dominicans because I've found the Don Rafael Fumas to be the loosest wrapped cigars I've ever smoked.
