these cigars were bought as a gift. turns out they are very dried out. I had to take them back and put them in my humidor to try and bring them back to where they should be.I don't know how long this will take. As a gift they were not satisfactory.

I do like the flavor. It is a very smooth cigar. However, my last shipment the wrappers must be dry because they peel off way to easily.

I threw a 5 pack of these in my order at the last minute figuring, "how bad could they be?" Well, they are that bad. No draw whatsoever, almost like smoking air, and the cigar literally fell apart in my hand. I only made it about 10 minutes in and got up to get a cigar that I'd enjoy. I won't feel bad dumping the remaining 4 in the trash, but do yourself a favor, save the money on something else.

It's a shame that these cigars are so poorly constructed because the flavor isn't half bad. But any enjoyment you might derive, is lost as these things literally come apart in you hands. Wrappers seemed patched together like a grade school paper mache project. Smoke these alone, to hide your shame. Lesson learned. You get what you pay for.

Used to put zip tie pieces in my cigarettes at work to discourage mooches. These smell as bad as that zip tie burning.

Everyday smoke

I'm a cuban cigar smoker for 50 years, and this is one of the worst taste cigar i smoke in my life. Is so mild, unflavored, that make you feel that you smoking grass. I just got a 40 cigars bundle and I can't wait to finish it up to step away from this. Thompson I personally run out of luck with you guys.

Maybe my order was a badly handled batch, but it smelled like a cat urinated on the bundle before it was packaged. Horrific odor. They went straight into the bin. The box they were shipped in was fine. I've never had a problem with shipping from Thompson.

Long Filler, true real cigar at modest cost. I cut the cigar in half with a cigar cutter. I smoke about 4-6 a day this way, outside. Grateful for quality at a decent cost.

Don Osvaldo is a great everyday smoke for someone who doesn't want to spend $5 or $10 per cigar. For the price, it is the best tasting and smelling cigar I've found. My buddy and I get many compliments on the aroma of the cigar, from smokers and non-smokers, both.

On a scale of 1-10 these cigars are a 4. If you are looking for a cheap smoke, know these are not an impressive cigar. Poor construction and mediocre taste, you can pass these off to your non-cigar smokers and they will probably like them, but for the everyday smoker there are much better choices. The wrapper comes apart and the taste is less than desirable.

Kinda grassy tasting and even harsh when I first got 'em, but aging at least a couple months in the humi surprisingly mellowed them out. After that, seems like a very good value in a long filler cigar, especially for an everyday smoke and knocking around the yard.

I'm smoking one of these as I type. Great everyday smoke. Easy to light, even burning. Easy draw. I rarely get one that is too tight. Since I'm retired and on a tight budget, the price is obviously very attractive as well. These are a very good cigar at any price and you won't be ashamed to share one with a friend. Construction is excellent, I've had more issues with so called premium cigars unraveling than with these.. This is my everyday cigar, I've been smoking them for several years. I would estimate over a thousand and I keep coming back. Admittedly, I do enjoy a more premium smoke on special occasions. But if you're on a budget, I don't think you will find a better product any near the price.

Best cigar for the money,....hands down.... above mild smoke. Goes great with any Jack Daniels brand. Prefer Tennessee Honey with these. Remember to freeze these cigars, then a couple of days in the refer, then to the pantry for a day or two without the plastic wrapper, finally in to the humidor. Plan the order in advance..these cigars are heaven after my Oliva Nubs....Enjoy!!!

I wanted to say that the customer service is excellent. I filled out a review card that came with the order and spoke about the five damaged cigars [big holes] and they without me asking refunded my money for the bad cigars. Total surprise to me. The price would say don't bother with this cheap cigar. However, after you try a package you'll say "Wow what a Great Cigar". I smoke these all Summer on the golf course and only need 2 while playing 18 holes. Some wrappers might come off when windy. But, that is the exception not the norm. The cigar wilk still draw without the wrapper, only look bad. I would definitely recommend this cigar.

Smoothest, mildest draw of any cigar. Would love to have them a bit longer with a larger ring/ 8.5 x 54. Will buy this until something bigger and better comes along.

This is the second time I've ordered these cigars. First time was decent. This time was terrible. Poor, thin wrappers fell apart or came with holes. Some cigars had so firm a draw they had to be reamed. I was only able to even smoke a couple cigars from each bunch. I won't waste my money on these again.

I had been ordering this cigar for several months, as it was a decent everyday stick. Flavor issues started showing up, with 10% bitter-tasting. The last batch of 120 had at least 50% that were bitter, hot, and unusable. I finally returned 40 of the last batch. Too bad. I thought I had what I wanted, only to become very disappointed.

I enjoy Maduro cigars these are great cigars for the price. The construction in most is very good. I usually get 1 bad one out of the bunch. I am on my 4th bunch. The service is good I will continue to smoke these.

I generally smoke a couple cigars a day; set 'em down for a time then light them up again. These cigars are too harsh for me. The tightness of the roll is very inconsistent causing them to burn unevenly. Sometimes they're hard to light, sometimes easy. Draw is inconsistent, as well. Don't think I'll be reordering these.

This cigar is a good every day smoke. It has a good flavor, burns nicely and is a mild/medium smoke.

Waxy chemical taste.

Last months Don's half were dry/crumbling and un-usable. This was first shipment that was that bad. Just a note about your humidor orders, on all shipments or first time customers. Put tips on how to use and how to store cigars (I.e. Leave wrappers in, take wrappers off etc. ) because a friend ordered and ended up messing up entire product in a week.

Great cigar. I am a long time Thompson Customer and after VSOP pricing went up considerably I found Don Osvaldo and have enjoyed it ALMOST as much.

I was trying this brand as a daily smoke and I found it to be too earthy and not balanced at all. The smell is terrible too. I do not recommend this brand. I love Maduro Cigars, but definitely not this brand.

I'VE had this brand before and they've been fine,BUT not this time. Too moist to smoke and I couldn't get them dried out.

I worked in a tobacco shop while in college. As a result, I have had the pleasure of smoking many high end cigars. These days I tend to smoke less expensive cigars. That said, I am no longer a cigar snob. I look for inexpensive cigars that can be used as a daily smoker. I tried these expecting a "cheap" cigar. Instead I found that they had a mild flavor of spice and earth. They burned evenly for the most part, but are susceptible to canoes (runs) if outside with a breeze (not really a problem). The draw was good on all of the cigars.

Terrible taste,bad odor and wont stay lit. Have smoked these in the past with no problems,hope this was a one time thing.

For a 40 stick bundle at a low price, I was impressed that I only had 1 defective stick.

I,m Retired 8 years now. I picked up a part-time job on a golf course. The Don's are great for a round of golf as well as ridin a $80,000 lawn mower. The golf club pays me to do this, they had me at free golf lol.

This hand rolled cigar is a great bargain. A full bodied cigar, which if you prefer something more mild this might change your mind.

when I golf I like to smoke a cigar or two. The Churchill size gives me about nine holes of play, so I usually smoke 2 per round of golf. On the down size if I am having an after drink and want to smoke a cigar, the size usually means I would have to have at least another drink....not good!

I recieved two of these sticks in a brown bag special awhile back and put them in the humi. Just got around to smoking one and this has got to be the worst cigar I have ever smoked. I'm baffled as to how it got so many good reviews. I somehow managed to get halfway through it hoping that maybe some good flavor would eventually kick in but it didn't. So, I tossed it thinking maybe I just got a bad stick and fired the other one up the next day. Again, another bad stick. Sorry Thompson but this is definitely NOT one of your best.

One of the signs of a good cigar, other than flavour and consistency, is how long an ash is held under normal conditions, the first Don Osvaldo, Maduro that I smoked right out of the package, not only was smooth all the way down to the stub but it held it's ash three quarters of the way down, this is my new favorite.

The thing that I like best about Don Osvaldo cigars is the firmness of the cigar. There is no flaking of the tobacco off of the end when cut or smoked. If you have to put it down for any reason, it won't go out before you come back to it. I have just resently ordered my second box.

My dad smokes around 3 cigars per day. For the price these cigars were decent. Almost every other cigar had wrapper imperfections. Another thing is that you could even smell the inconsistent flavor.

OK,cheap cigar, but not that bad. When you get a well reconstructed stick, they are not bad vs price. Flavor does change from first 3rd drastically, but stays consistent from there. I just finished an order of 40 (2 bundles) of the Maduro and noticed variations with draw & burn being the biggest issues for me. Flavor pretty good for a cheap stick.

This cigar delivers a great taste at a fraction of the cost of higher end and more expensive smokes. The flavor of the Maduro wrapper is a mild and creamy brillance. There were a few wrapper imperfections, but they weren't enough to dampen the the enjoyment of smoking this particular cigar brand. These sticks would make a great gift for anyone who likes a good cigar, and it's perfect for everyday use because of the low cost and remarkable flavor.

I've been looking for a good smoke in my budget range for awhile and feel I may have found it in these cigars. They burn a little unevenly but, if you're patient, they catch up. There are a few blemishes on the wrapper but they don't distract. Smooth flavor and firm ash.

For the price, you can't beat these as an everyday smoke. I like to smoke while I play pool almost daily. About 80% of these have been perfect. They all have a great consistant flavor. A few have had a very firm draw and a few have had issues with uneven burning but all in all, these are fine cigars. (Better than the very inconsistant Gurka's I bought around the same time which was disappointing)

Great flavor--very earthy with occasional spice; smooth, creamy smoke and lots of it. All these compliments are tempered by this brand's glaring inconsistencies. You never know where the plug is going to be or how it's going to affect the remainder of the smoke. I gave a few of these to a friend of mine. He reported back that he finally got the cigar lit. All of a sudden the cigar started to droop. Before he knew it, fire burned through the wrapper over halfway towards the head! I've had similar issues of the wrapper suddenly burning through an inch or more away from the tip. Also, they do not relight well. As a rule, when I light a cigar, I plan to smoke the whole thing in one sitting. Sometimes I have to put it down for a while and come back to it. Even doing my best to purge all the smoke in the stick, IF I can get it to relight, the smoke is incredibly harsh and HOT! The negative stuff (other than the relight) applies to about 25% of the bundle. So that brings the cost per stick to about $1.33. Not bad at all for a really good for the money maduro.

Like the Don Osvaldo torpedos, these churchhills were an excellent smoke. Great for everyday enjoyment. I will order these particular cigars again.

It's a shame I can't get these things to burn well. Not one in the bulk of 40 behaved right. They taste far better than a [$] smoke. Just break out your flame thrower and torch off the unburned part and get back to it. Smoke these things very slowly, and sometimes that helps, but it will always run on you. You get what you pay for. If you can afford $10 sticks, good for you, if not, join me on the porch for an Osvaldo!
