Received as a Christmas gift and it worked great for the first month. After the first month it would not seal correctly and hold the moisture to keep cigars fresh. I took to my local cigar shop and had them try to tighten the seal and still would not work. Lost several good cigars due to this product. I use it not to keep documents. Very disappointed.

Great first humidor. I love the look. It adds class to any decor. Good seal on the box. I have not lost any humidity.

Disappointed in this product. Received my first one as a gift in April 2014. Within a month the outside veneer was pulling away from the box. Additionally I could not get the box to seal correctly after I seasoned it. I contacted Thompson and told them that I wanted a refund and wanted to be able to buy a new, different box. I was told that they would make a 1-time offer of switching it for a new box but the same one. I had no other option unless I wanted to eat the cost and go a different direction. The second box came in June 2014. The veneer has been fine with no troubles. BUT, the new box still will not seal correctly. I have tried seasoning it for a month straight with no luck. There is a gap between the lid and the box which makes it not hold the moisture. The lid shuts hard which is another indication that it is not holding the moisture. I would not recommend this and wish I could have a different box. I bought this product due to the reviews, the spanish cedar, and the look.

Great product. The hygrometer is ok but if you keep high end cigars in it then you might consider a high end meter.

nice box w/good craftsmanship; hygrometer useless despite adjusting several times; went to Lowes and bought digital hygrometer.

this was my first humidor to properly store a few cigars that were a gift. it looks great on the bookcase as a display piece and smells absolutly fantastic with the cedar lining and has a tight seal. simple and inexpensive and a great overall unit for what i needed

I bought this as my first humidor. Despite the hygrometer reading about 15% below recommended, I did the salt test and adjusted the hygrometer accordingly (east to pop a small flathead in the casing and pop off the back). Since then, the humidor has held 68-72% humidity and has definitely helped to season and protect the cigars. Have filled the humidifier twice in 3 weeks while humidity balances out, but now the humidor is performing to required standards. Excellent purchase.

This humidor is a great starter and very attractive. Good mix of form and functionality.
