This was an excellent cigar. Upon lighting the cigar you're treated to a mild profile that tastes a bit baking coco, espresso and leather. From the first third through the second third, the flavor profile developed into a mild-full profile, with rich dark chocolate notes melded with espresso, and the leather notes blending in quite well. The flavor was rich and full without the notes of pepper that often accompany a more flavorful choice. The dark chocolate and espresso flavors became a bit more creamy through the last third. There was no period were the flavor profile was harsh or underdeveloped. The burn was even, and the cigar drew well, with no touch ups needed. I bought a box of them after having only one. Upon giving one to a Cuban friend of mine who smokes, he said it was fantastic. This is one of my top cigars now.

This is an outstanding cigar. I really love the flavor of this cigar. Subtle notes of chocolate and leather. Really happy with every attribute this stick offers. Very much worth the price for a box of these.

Very nice 3 star cigar for sure. My 4 star cigars are: Perdomon Anniversary or the Chanmpagne NIOR, Casa Rustica(awesome), R.P. decade, My Father, Casa Magna,CAO red label anniversary,Aging room f-55,and others and then the 5 star: Flor de las Antillas,La Amora de Cuba Mi Amor(heaven) maduro box press,Padron Anniversary, Oliva series V melanio/figardo (had this? this is what 5 stars is all about for not a lot of money), Alec Bradley Prensado or the Tempus,,just to name a few. So maybe this helps other understand, but try for example the Perdomo Champagne NIOR which is the same cost and tell me you can't tell me the Perdomo is not a star , or two better in EVERY WAY!!!! so back to this cigar, this one as well as others, I age for a minimum of 3 months before lighting up. All cigars will improve their taste/ experience when aging and 3-10 days just doesn't cut it. Anyway, this cigar cuts clean and lights nicely. The amount of smoke off these cigs is almost second to none for sure. It is noted as a med. maduro which I can assure you after aging, this is NOT the case. It is a mild from start to finish at best. Nothing wrong with this but it's just that. I can burn thru 2- 45 minute CD's smoking this guy!!! Easy 1.5 hours on this smoke! With all the smoke which I really enjoy, light scents are emitted with lite earthy flavors with just a hint of sweetness(cocoa). Half my enjoyment of smoking is brathing in thesecond hand smoke and aborbing those incredible aromas,,there is no bittereness, just a smooth smoke. Case and point,, try an Oliva V series melanio(should be able to find for a buck+ more/stk,tell me your not in absolute heaven breathing the aromas from this cig- you won't want it to end...) anyway-No left over fermentation bite AKA: peppery. Burn is excellent and requires no touchup for the entire smoke. I have no room in my 4 hummi's for losers, but this one, and the PDR1878 red label, always have a spot

This cigar is a great smoke. I'm normally a mild or at the most a mild to medium due to loving a cigar, but not the overly powerful taste when you are done. I called to switch the cigar of the month and this one was recommended to me. I'll be with this cigar for a long time. They claim its a medium bodied cigar but i just cant find it in the flavor or the after taste. I have a few friends that come over to smoke and they are normally a Gloria or Cohiba smokers and they have been taken back by this cigar. When i got the box i unwrapped the cigars and put them directly in the humidor. I left them there for 10 days before i smoked the first one. Either clip the pigtail or bite it off. The draw never changes. A great cigar with a very smooth taste and flavor. I have not had an uneven burn, blemish or one that wants to unwrap. Also the box is really nice. Greatly packaged with a ribbon to pull out the center 4 cigars so no worries about damaging the cigars when taking them out. I'll be sticking with this cigar for a long time.

I have been fortunate enough to meet a person that worked at a cigar store. She gave me a sample pack of the PDR line. I wasnt really familiar with them at all. I of course smoked them all over a week and a half. I liked them all but by far enjoyed the PDR 1878 Cubano Especial Capa Madura. It burned even from beginning to end and had a great flavor. It didnt leave you with a funky after bite. It had a hint of spice to it with leather and earthy taste. I loved the dark flavor but was surprised it was mild to me. I was expecting a stronger bite from medium to strong from the way its appearance is. Needless to say I would rate this cigar right up there if not better than the Deminican Cohiba. Of course it is a different taste, but one that I prefer. I have smoked them all and this is by far one of the best made. Being hand made has alot to do with it as well and I really like the pig tail on this line. I tried cutting them and also just taking the tail off. I found that by just clipping the pig tail that it leaves a small hole at the beginning of the smoke. By the time you are half way done it has opened up concentrating more flavor towards the end. From the beginning to the end this is a great cigar. The only complaint I have is that I didnt buy the double corona because I enjoy a longer smoke. The sample that she gave me was 6" 50 ring. I thought that was the only way to get this particular cigar and had bought the same thing. I will now purchase from now on the Churchhill or the Double corona. Im just worried that the churchhill with the smaller ring size may change the flavor with the draw. Hopefully not.

Once you light up this cigar you will notice a difference. From the start to the end this cigar has the same draw if not better. You will also get the exprection that makes you fill like you are smoking a cigar that should cost much more that what you pay for it. So light it up and enjoy the filling of being on the big top !!!

Perhaps one of the finest I've smoked. Perhaps the only drawback was that it had a tendency to burn very smoky. Not enough of a drawback to not place another order.
