Mild to medium smoke with a light flavor does not usually leave a bad taste in my mouth when done. The draw is very fluid and steady

Before I began to write my comments I read all the previous reviews to get a feel for how I wanted to describe this cigar. I believe I am the first review in 2018. I first bought cigar 3 or 4 years ago. I was completely floored by the smoking experience. The wrapper, binder and filler were exquisite. Remarkable flavor. It became one of my top cigars. Unfortunately, I'm retired and the cost for this cigar was a little over my budget. Recently, Thompson offered a great deal which I could not refuse. The total discount allowed me to purchase 2 boxes of LA PALOMA VIN RES PYRA. When I received my cigars I opened the first box examined a cigar, where it immediately brought back fond memories of yesteryear. I lit the cigar, which was easy to lite, had a beautiful draw, the wrapper was perfect, but suddenly there was a strange foul strange bitter taste after every draw. A taste very difficult to describe. I have been smoking cigars, many types, many brands for the past 30 years. Never had I ever tasted a cigar like this. With each subsequent cigar from box # 1, the experience a rancid bad after taste. I came the conclusion that perhaps something had happened to the tobacco during the curing process. I opened box # 2 this past weekend. The cigars were beautifully made. As I lit the 1st cigar from box # 2, easy to lite, burned evenly, great draw but that terrible after taste surfaced once again. I should of returned the second box for a refund, by by my procrastination, the time limit for refunds expired. I conclusion, the cigar looks beautiful but it leaves a terrible after taste in your mouth after every draw.

The last 3 boxes of (75) cigars I purchased have had about 90% of them rolled to tight with little to no draw. I usually have to cut them in half and run a poker through to get some draw. However, the taste is very bitter. I am very dis-satisfied with the quality of the entire LaPalama line and with Thompson. I've complaint about this problem in the past and obviously Thompson has no control of the production quality. I will probably cancel my membership with Thompson and use another suppler that I have had better success with.

I have had a number of these that were too tightly rolled. The Draw Poker helps to save them. Other than that, I like them.
