From the factory behind Camacho comes the Hammer & Sickle Berlin Wall Toro Criollo (6" x 50) , a cigar that celebrates the momentous destruction of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and the crushing defeat of communism. And what a cigar it is! Medium bodied yet loaded with flavor, the handmade Hammer & Sickle Berlin Wall prides itself on the premium Dominican (Navarrete) and Honduran tobaccos (both 3 year aged), 4 year aged Honduran Habano binder, and 6 year aged Honduran Criollo wrapper used for the blend. It has nuances of wood, spice, and leather aromas, will remind you of old school, pre-embargo Cuban offerings. Due to the hard to find tobaccos used, the Berlin Wall from Hammer & Sickle cigars is very limited production, so get yours now.

The Berlin Wall was a nice surprise. I expected another run-of-the-mill cigar; but no, this one is a medium great tasting, long smoking cigar that pairs wonderfully with a single malt Irish.

This is very likely one of the finest cigars on the market now. I'm not an expert, but I know quality when I come across it. I purchased a five pack each of the Hammer and sickle line and was kinda underwhelmed with the both of Trademark Line sticks and the Hermitage was okay..but just okay(very similar to the RP Olde World Reserve). Then I lit up the Berlin Wall. Wow. I was bracing for a disappointment, but it never came. To be fair the first third was kinda one note, it was an EXCELLENT note though, earthy, reminiscent of moss or mushroom but over all very pleasant. In the second third it opened up a bit with a subtle sweet spice, similar to toasted cardamom or corriander with the barest touch of black pepper which gradually grew and dominated the end third. Even though it had started raining pretty heavily, I took my dog for an extra loop around the block so I could finish this beautiful stogie.
