Proper humidification is one of the keys to cigar enjoyment. Levels that are too low can lead to dry, brittle cigars. Levels that are too high can lead to spongy cigars, mold, or tobacco beetles. So, let’s talk humidification options.
You may have noticed the humidification pack in your box, these packs by Boveda offer one of the easiest ways to ensure that your cigars are kept at the humidity level you prefer. How do these packs work? Well, Boveda is the only patented product to offer 2-way humidity control. This process allows your pack to continually respond to ambient conditions by adding or removing moisture to the environment to meet the pack’s relative humidity (RH) level. Now that you know how Boveda packs work, your next question may be how many packs should you use? You can never use too many, the more you put in your humidor the longer they will last.
A small 8-gram pack would be perfect for a small travel case carrying 5 cigars.
Our recommendations are based on the number of cigars being stored: for every 25 cigars one 60-gram pack or from 25 to 125 cigars one 320-gram pack. Boveda packs are accurate to +/-2% of the RH on the pack.

Most of the cigar world knows the history of Drew Estate, from its founding in NYC by fraternity brothers Jonathan Drew and Marvin Samel in 1996, to introducing the extremely popular and highly-rated brands ACID and Liga Privada. While ACID was an infused game-changer, it was the Liga Privada brand that ushered the company into the premium handmade cigar space. The wildly-popular brand plays a big role in the development of Drew Estate’s Undercrown line. Liga Privada was so popular with the rollers, that they were asked to smoke less of them because they were depleting the inventory.
Despite their disappointment, the rollers put their years of experience to good use and went to work on blending a cigar that would be their own signature Liga. The blend used many of the same rare tobaccos as the Liga Privada, just from different vintages and primings. The result was Undercrown Maduro. This beauty is of the same uncompromising quality cigar aficionados have come to expect from the company. The blend features some of the best Nicaraguan tobacco paired with Brazilian Mata Fina long-fillers that are surrounded by a dark San Andrés maduro wrapper. The blend creates an unmatched medium to full-bodied profile with sweet nuances from the maduro wrapper. The Undercrown Maduro received a 91-rating, earning a spot in the Top 25 Cigars of 2017.
Master blender AJ Fernandez has a long list of fan-favorite and highly-rated cigars in his portfolio. AJ is known for his medium to full-bodied blends but chose to go in a different, smoother direction with the Ave Maria Immaculata. This carefully crafted blend is a smooth to medium-bodied handmade offering notes of almonds, toast, and cedar. Handmade in Nicaragua at Tabacalera Fernandez, this cigar utilizes a golden-blond Ecuador Connecticut wrapper over a Cuban-seed Nicaraguan binder and long-fillers. This stick is an immaculate addition to any humidor.
Cohiba Puro Dominicana is dressed in a hand-selected Cuban-seed Habano wrapper, over a Dominican binder, and a bold blend of Dominican long-fillers. To maximize the flavors, each leaf is patiently aged ‘en tercio’ — in an airtight bale of tightly-wrapped palm leaves — within charcoaled wooden barrels to give the cigar a distinctive oaky flavor. After each cigar is rolled, they are additionally aged allowing the flavors to meld together, producing a flavorful and balanced smoking experience. Cohiba Puro Dominicana is not just a cigar, but a luxury experience with notes of leather, earth, and spice.
Gurkha Centurian was created by Kaizad Hansotia for the Sultan of Brunei. As one of the world’s richest men, the Sultan of Brunei can smoke any cigar he wants, so you know this is a special blend. Centurian is filled with Cuban-seed Ligero leaves from the Ciabao Valley in the Dominican that were aged for eight years under a lovely Cameroon binder. Overtop this blend, you will find a luscious Connecticut wrapper glistening with dark khaki colors. This cigar boasts a medium-bodied profile with notes of cedar, toast, and spice. Simply put, they are the best of the best and are considered the Rolls Royce of the cigar industry.
The second release in Raul Disla’s Latitude Zero line is the Latitude Zero Signature. Made with tobaccos grown by the Oliva Tobacco Company, this medium to full-bodied, box-pressed stick boasts a beautiful Ecuador Sumatra wrapper over a Nicaraguan Habano binder, and a blend of long-fillers made up of Connecticut Broadleaf and Cuban-seed tobaccos from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The notes of pepper are clear from the first puff with subtle undertones of leather and the introduction of oak in the back half of the smoke. Every box comes complete with Disla’s signature.
