Victor Sinclair Hellfire (5" x 34) from Jose Dominguez is something a little different from the norm of the famous Victor Sinclair brand. The Hellfire is a Cheroot shaped cigar that utilizes fire cured tobacco in its blend giving the smoke a slightly charred taste. These fire cured tobaccos have become more popular over the years, and Victor Sinclair took notice and delivered something nice!

I am usually satisfied with y orders however these cigars are garbage! They are all dried up and unraveling with most of them cracked in several places. They cannot be smoked. I tossed them in the garbage along with the money I spent on them! Very disappointed.

Uneven smoking quality in the box. Some cigars smoke fine, others have a difficult draw and uneven burn. A few of the cigars were impossible to smoke without trimming 1/4 of an inch from the tightly wrapped end.

Too loose. Sheds ash all over when smoking. Some char notes one wants in a fire-cured cheroot but not much. Really loosely rolled. Need to stand when you smoke ‘em. Didn’t expect much as they’re an obvious value buy, and these delivered on that.

I like the cigar size and packaging but cannot keep it lit. It will go out after two puffs and I will have to continually keep lighting it.

These are the worst cigars I ever purchased. The fill burns a bit. Then you must relight. Wrap won't burn and taste is awful. If you need a decent cheap cigar there are much better ones available. These are good for ground fill at best.

If not drawing on it often it goes out.Because I had to draw on the cigar often to keep it burning it leaves a burnt taste in your mouth. Not good.I was very disappointed.

I accidentally found out that all the comments that said that you have to let them mellow for a few weeks/months before they are consistent are exactly right. I bought them for some everyday short smokes, and found that right out of the package they were pretty inconsistent on the burn. They canoe, they core, they go out on you... all the things that people are panning on their reviews. I left them in the box for a couple of months and turned to my other sticks, wondering what I would do with all these powerful little cheroots that I now owned. I came back to them in the Spring, and found that they burned just fine now. All the people who talked about how smoky they are... did you NOT know that you were buying fire cured cigars? That's kind of their thing! If you have some time to let them mellow out before you tear into them, you have a great little stick for the money. You need to appreciate a strong flavor, though, because these little guys pack more punch than they let on. In the end, they are worth what I paid, and the box/band are pretty sweet with the bold "HELLFIRE" label and flame background. I will be purchasing again.

This was the worst purchase I've ever made. You light up and after a few puffs it starts burning in the middle of the cigar. I tried smoking 7 of them and had to flush 6 of them, the bad thing is that I wasted money on 80 of them

Wrapper not cured. Burns the filler but not the wrapper. If you put them in the microwave for 25 seconds you might get a smoke out of it. It would be a good little cigar if you could get it to burn.

This cigar burn's hot but won't stay lit. This cigar is best for chewing but don't light it. That is when things go bad. I gave most of these away and nobody liked them.

I'm drawn to Victor Sinclair for the mild inexpensive Churchill size cigars I've found here in the past that have been very good. i'm cheap, so I cut the big cigars in half and get twice as many smokes to enjoy. i was intrigued by these small specialty Sinclairs but am totally disappointed to the point of probably tossing the rest of the box after only 4-5 tries. they should definitely NOT be given the mild rating. they burn horribly, if at all. the flavor more closely matches horse manure than smokey goodness. they just don't match all the other good aspects of the other Sinclairs i've enjoyed.

I purchased a box of these cheroots because I love Kentucky Cheroots and Victor Sinclair smokes. When I first received them they were moist and impossible to keep lit, flavor was uninspiring to say the least. I love Avanti American-made cheroots, never a complaint about them.I've tried Red Lion Dominican, they can be nice at times. So I was VERY VERY disappointed with Hellfire. So I left them in the box, out of the humidor, for over 3 months, decided to try them again, and VWOLLAHHH ! The flavor was finally found and it was GREAT. More spicy and tasty than even the Avanti products, but not near the consistency in wrapping and performance, but a better flavor, at least to me. The draw and refusal to stay lit are frustrating, but when they smoke, they smoke and taste wonderful. Short story, I will buy again, and let dry out before trying to enjoy.

I had a box of another brand of Kentucky fired cheroots and they were so horrible to keep lit and major tunneling. I saw these and was excited because I always have good luck with Victor Sinclair smokes. These were almost as bad. I have had a few that were good but the great majority had the same issues. I'm starting to think that there is an issue with Kentucky fire cured tobacco wrappers burning, or not wanting to burn. I thought that maybe the wrappers were too moist so I left some out and they dried out a little too much. I shared these with a few coworkers and had to apologize later. I still have a few in the humidor and always hope that it will burn properly. The Don Osvaldo cheroots are nice. I would recommend those. Ordering the Don Rafael cheroots today.

Strong smoke odor before lighting, harsh taste and uneven burn, won't stay lit and requires several relights. OK if you're desperate. Definitely a case of you get what you pay for.

It's a decent smoke after The Smoke kind of smoke.....or when you only have 30 minutes or less.....or when you are out walking the dog. A nice change of pace from the high end premium cigars (The Smoke). Don't expect a premium hand-rolled, long filler, special edition puro....it ain't. It is however, a good hand-rolled fire-cured short smoke for not so much $$.

After lighting the cigar numerous times, it's like sucking on a blowtourch. I understand pricing competition, but it amazes me of the total lack of tobacco used.
