J.C. Newman Cigar Co. has been in business since 1895 making so many cigars that are now household names among cigar lovers. They hand-crafted this Perla Del Mar G Maduro Toro (6 1/4" x 54) using fillers in and binders from Nicaragua (four regions: Pueblo Nuevo, La Reina, Condega and Jalapa) and topped off the blend with a Maduro wrapper of the Connecticut Broadleaf variety.

Note: The Perla Del Mar line has recently undergone a packaging update along with new size names. We currently have a mix of both the new and the old packaging, but don't worry- they are the exact same cigars. 'G' is now 'Toro'

I don't believe in bad-mouthing a product that others may enjoy. As far as I'm concerned I did not care for the cigar at all. In my opinion it had very little character and did not provide strength or smoking enjoyment as it pertains to the burn, the temperature and the overall structure of the cigar.

Excellent cigar, I prefer maduro cigars and this is one's flavor better than others I have smoked. Burns evenly throughout the smoke. The construction is impeccable. I got these PDM's through the "Five Pack Fever" deal. A box of these are expensive.

This is a bit of a sleeper cigar and brand. It is also a Tampa box-pressed cigar so it’s a little different. If you’re adventurous, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Construction, burn, and smoke production are always perfect, and the flavor is a nice combo of full maduro and with smoothness. This is simply a very good cigar.

Was hoping the new version would be like the old one. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Less flavor and thencigar was not well made. Uneven burn, major canoeing. The Connecticut version was better, though still not as good as the old one.
