These cigars smoke very well, and they always have as I have bought PDR cigars for some years!

Fair smoke, inconsistent wrapping with draw being smooth on some to difficult on others. When the smoke is smooth it is most satisfying.

Draw and burn was fairly consistent but the flavor was not. Not bad, but not consistent across the bundle. Good cigars at a value price!

The PDR-VLR Habano and Maduro are hidden gems. About 1 stick per bundle has burn issues. For the price , construction, burn and profile you can't beat them!

Cigars are to soft and burn in one side and constantly have to be relit. Not happy with them. They need to be improved.

Not my favorite. Shipment is supposed to be every 90 days, arrives a month early. Supposed to get a heads up by e-mail; it's not in my inbox, not in my spam folder. These cigars draw well, but burn with a lip. The flavor might be described as acrid. All-in-all, not a very satisfying experience. I give them a one on a scale of five, they might be a little lower, but the scale doesn't go that low.

Very good inexpensive cigars with great flavor. I have smoked a good number of cigars which were much more expensive, but few of them were significantly better than these. I will keep a good supply of them in my humidors for my own enjoyment and to share with my friends in the Cigar and Scotch club.

I am forming my tastes and desires for "SAMPLE" packages, I prefer a long leisure smoke, I'm still working on the BEST way to cut vs punch HEAD. I see that I'm becoming a bit of a "CIGAR SNOB"....lol I PREFER ONLY "LONG FILLERS", And SMOOTH TO MEDIUM/ MEDIUM.. Smooth is WAY TOO LIGHT. I "AM just like a kid in a candy store... I, unfortunately am on disability, so I am limited on my purchases. I am VERY THANKFUL to THOMPSON CIGAR for ALL THEIR HELP. As time passes I shall work to keep a full Humidor.

I wasn't overly impressed with them at first but after some time in the humidor I thought they became a pretty decent stick. I'll try some of these again in future. Good cigar for the cost.

The cigar lit very easier and it burned quicker than I thought it would, but it burned evenly enough. It was also a lot smoother than I thought it would, but didn't pack a punch with taste. The longer it burned I felt it getting strong, perhaps a little sweeter, but honestly smoked like a Connecticut type.

I bought many "sampler" bundles, hoping to find that special cigar. This one wins hands down, for mine as well as my wife's taste. (She likes the smell)

These Habanos would also be an excellent choice for late afternoon or early evening. They taste less "woody" than Sumatras and have some of the subtlety and elegance of Cameroons. If you're looking for something less intense than a Maduro, but more intense than a Connecticut, these would probably be a good choice.

This is an excellent affordable everyday smoke. The flavor is very good for an inexpensive cigar. Usually it smokes good, but occasionally you get one with a firm draw. They usually burn pretty good, but tend to go out if you leave it unattended after a short period of time. I sometimes find myself relighting one 2 to 3 times. Overall, it is a very good everyday cigar with good flavor.

This is a decent cigar, but it leaves a slightly bitter aftertaste. It burned about 50 minutes. I liked the Habano wrapper, but I still prefer a Maduro.

The 6x52 PDR - VLR Habano in Toro is a good looking stick. First thing to notice is that it's very soft. Almost like it's wet. It has a nice barnyard aroma, quadruple cap, milk chocolate wrapper, slightly lumpy pack, minimal veins and the seams are visible. Right off the light all I'm getting is a bitter tobacco flavor. 10 minutes in, almost an inch down. Burn is slightly wavy, but self correcting. The bitter tobacco flavor is still there, however it almost instantly smooths out into a nice dry earth leaving a bit of an oil slick in the mouth. 30 minutes in almost no change to the flavor. The bitterness is gone, the earth is still there and a wood and light coffee has come in to the short finish. Mild to medium at the most so far. Ash is plunking off after every inch or so. 1 hour in and the coffee has come up, the wood has come down, and the earth is the same with a little nuttiness coming in. 1 hour 5 minutes and the smoke is getting to warm for my taste. No change in flavor. Conclusion: The PDR - VLR Habano in Toro is a great mild to medium mid morning early afternoon smoke. If smoking on a budget is for you then this cigar might be a top pick. If you see one, give it a try. The construction was decent all the way down so no worries there. -Fecto

After reading many good reviews, this seemed like a no brainer for the price. Unfortunately, not. I've tried other PDRs before with success. However, I can't remember a cigar this bad. Soft, like a hand rolled cigarette, to start. Draw is good, but it would be for something so loose. After about 10 minutes there is about a 45 degree burn going, and then it goes out. Ok, cut off about 1/2 inch and try again. Same result. Taste is fair, but also not what I expected. I am hoping that I just got a bad bundle.

A nice cigar. A creamy sweet flavor that pleases the palate. One issue was they were not very firm and burned faster than I'd liked. But I'll keep them on my shopping list.

I found the PDR VLR Toro Camaroon to be delightful - yes very spicy and hardy but good, and 22/25 stogies burned beautifully. I wanted to try the Habano wrapper and really do like it, although they don't burn as well as the camaroon for some reason. I want to try the maduro next, but PDR VLR is a great budget stogie selection!

I live in a dry environment, so I haven't found a cigar that burns consistent. But when I go to work (at sea level) I have a lot fewer wrapper and construction issues. I really like this cigar when I can get them for a little over a buck a stick.

I really like these, I've been looking for a good smoke for a good price, and I've found it. I do like the TORPEDO even a little better... I've found that the wrapper imperfections that I've had are mostly because I live at 9000ft, at sea level (where I work) most (not all) imperfections are greatly reduced.

I've tried some more expensive cigars in the PDR line, and this particular Value Line Reserve stick is not that far below those top of the line smokes. There is some uneven burn, but it's really not enough to effect your enjoyment of the cigar. Because of the cost, this makes a great everyday smoke, and probably one of the best, and affordable, everyday cigars you'll find.

For a less expensive cigar, this one delivers on taste and aroma. Because of the cost, it's a great everyday smoke, which I save for the end of the day. I've only tried the PDR's with the Habano wrapper, and I find it blends very well with the Dominican tobacco. I will be trying this stick with a Maduro wrapper in the not to distant future. A good value for a very good cigar.

This cigar has a top of the line persona without the top of the line price. It makes a great gift, and it's a cigar that's perfect for special occasions and events. However, because this cigar has a nice affordable price, it's great for everyday use as well. This is honestly one of the best cigars I've ever had the pleasure to smoke.

This cigar is one for individuals, who prefer a sophisticated taste on special occasions. The only problem has been construction issues, but it's not a continual problem.
