The story behind the Pappy Van Winkle Toro Habano Oscuro is unique. Julian Van Winkle, President of Old Rip Van Winkle Distillery, once went to an event held by Cigar Aficionado. It was at that event that Jonathan Drew, of Drew Estate, brought him a box of cigars that read "Exclusively for my Friend Julian by Willy Herrera Sincerely Jonathan Drew." Van Winkle love the cigar so much he decided to visit the Drew Estate factory in Nicargua and knew from there he wanted that exact blend to represent Van Winkle.

The Pappy Van Winkle is an outstanding cigar. I've been a cigar smoker for many years and I've always enjoyed Drew Estate products. I find this cigar to be one of Drew Estate's best blends. It's well made, great draw, attractive oily wrapper and an unbelievable taste. A pleasurable smoke for any cigar smoker.
