This cigar is the best cigar I've tried to date! This is the only cigar I've ever had where I could actually taste flavors: dark chocolate on the cap while not lit and coffee in the first third. I didn't want the smoke to end, honestly. I smoked it all the way up to the ash burning my fingers to hold it

I received this a part of my monthly sampler. I've never tried a Drew Estates stick before so I was very interested to see what this was like. On initial impressions, the cigar appears well made and has a nice smooth semi-oily wrapper. Exposing the long fillers about a half an inch past the wrapper on the foot is supposed to give you a couple of draws and a chance to taste it without the influence of the wrapper. Unique approach in theory, but in practice, if you toast the end of your stick, you'll end up burning that all off to the wrapper. There was nothing impressive about the taste of the cigar itself. In my opinion not a mild-bodied cigar, but closer to med-full. The cigar was fairly strong too throughout. I almost put it out after smoking the first third, but decided to give it a chance into the last two thirds. The smoke did start to mellow somewhat in the 2nd third, but the strength remained and even increased into the last third. Flavor to me was very earthy, with more than a hint of a coffee flavor added to just a slight spice on the front of the palate. The burn ran like a scalded dog about an inch in, but after correcting, it burned fairly even. could have been the way I lit the exposed long fillers at start up. All in all, it's not to my taste in a cigar. There were limited changes in flavor and other than strength, stay fairly consistent.
