These are two of the tastiest blends known to man IF they are fresh. That being said the Melanio arrived reasonably fresh BUT the Royale was very dry & bitter and is still in the humidor 8 weeks now and they are close to where they should have been when they arrived. Hit and Miss. Last time was a hit...this time was a miss.

Been enjoying all varieties of La Aroma de Cuba for many years. Thompson inferred that the Rocky Patel Royales are on the same level, but not so, IMHO. The 10 pack I got had no strength, a loose roll, and no discernable flavor. These were the first Patels I've tried, and I just didn't care for them. I'll continue to purchase La Aromas, Olivas, Roma Craft and other full flavored smokes.

I really enjoyed the smoothness and flavors these 2 cigars provide. I very much enjoyed the smooth silky wrapper on the Rocky Patels. It was my first experience with these and it certainly won't be my last. Both of these cigars earned thier 90+ ratings.

I just paired my first Oliva V Melanio with the last of my 2001 Douglas of Drumlanrig single malt. Sitting on the deck with my dog at my feet and the train running in the distance, life doesn't get much better. Great flavor, smooth easy draw and an even slow burn with a long ash. What more can you ask for? If the Rocky's are anything like the Oliva's I just can't wait to try them.

The Rocky Patel Royal, awesome.! I buy these on the regular. As for the Oliva V Melanio this was the first time I've had the chance to smoke one. It totally exceeded my expectations and coming together with the Rocky' s that was just a added bonus! I bought 2 of these combos, one to stash in my humi and the other to Vegas. All gone in 3 days. Enough said!

I have been smoking the Oliva V's for a while and always enjoy them, but I had not previously tried the Rocky Patel Royale. I was very impressed by the Royale's and would purchase again. Both cigars are very smooth and they burn great with a nice easy draw. Good quality all the way around, and for the price you cannot beat this combo.
