Shrouded Crown

Shrouded Crown
Toro 6” x 52
Made: Dominican Republic    Wrapper:  San Andres, Mexico
Binder: Dominican Republic   Filler: Dominican Republic

The menacing medieval helmet emblazoned on the band of this cigar may cause you to think back to a few months prior.  You are indeed correct that this is another Shrouded Crown, but we are off on a different crusade this month.  Both Shrouded Crowns boast a bunch blended from Dominican leaves and are finished with Mexican San Andres wrappers, however therein lies the difference.  This Shrouded Crown arms us with a San Andres Claro wrapper as opposed to the prior, which had the Maduro leaf.

For those of you who are staunch Maduro fans, do not despair.  Give the wrapper on this Toro a whiff and you’ll immediately note that richness and oils abound.  The filler smells of potent tobacco and green pepper with an elusive promise of pepper.  Once lit the wrapper lays down a tantalizing cloud of aromatic richness of tobacco and spice.  The filler leans in quickly with a slew of earth, tobacco, and a bit of black coffee and a touch of malt.  The black labeled Shrouded Crown reveals itself as a worthy addition to the tournament.
