Comments about 55 SERIES Victor Sinclair Series 55 Box Press Yellow Label Cameroon Robusto Single Cigar:
The Victor Sinclair Series 55 Box Press Yellow Label Cameroon Robusto comes to me via Thompson Auction at a price substantially less than offered here. Having smoked a number of these cigars, as well as it's assorted cousins, I can attest to their consistency. It is a good value at $2 per stick.
The cigar presents nicely with a somewhat lighter shade than common in better Cameroon wrappers. Like it's cousin's this robusto benefits greatly from the box press which holds the seams and leaf tighter. The cut and light of the cigar is clean and uneventful. First tastes reveal a mild tobacco taste with no background accents. The wrapper provides a light sweetness to the lips and tip of the tongue that does not translate to the smoke. Ash is medium grey with light flaking and grows to one inch before falling off. The cigar will brighten to mild/medium towards the end. The cigars of this line regularly burn uneven as do these, up to 3/4 of an inch. Smoke is average and the overall experience lasts about 40 minutes.
In summary, this is an undistinguished cigar priced well above its station. If you can find it at about $2 you have a decent value. Otherwise, shop around for much, much better cigars at this price point.
