The original Savinelli Shop, which sold smoking-related articles, opened in Milan in 1876 and still exists today. It was here that founder, Achille Savinelli, Sr., began designing pipes that were then produced by craftsmen in Varese. These artisans began using briar, a radical idea at that time. 135 years and five generations later, the Savinelli's continue to design and create exceptional pipes using only the finest grades of Corsican and Sardinian briar.
