This is a wonderful cigar that I favor over my Macanudo Maduro Hyde Park, Aging Room Quattros, and Montecristo Negras. I don't like the knotted head because it makes it difficult to get a clean clip. It is well constructed and burns evenly. The flavor and aroma are delightful. The cigar burns for about an hour. This is my favorite cigar at present.

Such a tough cigar to grade for me, six months ago, I would of gave it a solid 3 star rating (which is good coming from me) and with an inventory of Oliva V series Melanio (just heaven), or the figardo's,La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor, Flor de las Antillas (it's like smoking velvet!) (some of my 5 stars),,, 4 stars (some)-Nica rustica, Toranno Exodus 1959, Perdomo 20th anniversary/ or the Champagne NIOR(incredible flavors), Alec Bradley Presando,,, just to name some for the point. I aged these PDR 1878 smokes for 6+months in the big hummi, just pulled one out and... ok... it's now moved to a 4 star. Clean razor burn with flavors that stayed so smooth thru the entire smoke. Lots of smoke and aroma.Earthy flavor, very light with a hint of sweetness. No bitterness, but NOTE!!! I age all my cigars for 3 months minimum. I have 4 hummis to handle the volume,,,So not exactly lighting up fresh sticks. Aging to me ensures a good burn, uniform flavors as the tobacco ages and creates a uniform flavor/taste with the binder and wrapper. This is a true mild smoke, and will for sure be stocked in my inventory. I date each box and track them for sampling. Great smoke! Look forward to the next one in ~2-3 months!
