Comments about My Father No. 3 Natural Toro Single Cigar:
Procured the My Father No. 3 Natural Toro Single Cigar through the Thompson auction site at substantially less cost than advertised.
The cigar presents nicely with decent initial construction, tight seams, smooth body with small veins. Initial aroma of the unlit cigar is of tobacco and light pepper. Initial cap cut is accomplished with a perfect cutter. The light is accomplished easily with good coverage. However, the remaining cap comes off on my lips (again).
The initial strength of the cigar is of medium affect with a pleasant though not noteworthy tobacco with light black pepper and a light spice finish. The strength and taste notes remain consistent throughout the smoke, as expected, considering that the cigar had aged in my humidors for about 10 months. The light grey ash remains on the cigar for about 3/4 inch before falling off. Burn is straight and smoke production is good. The construction of the cigar suffers once the cap easily fell off at lighting, causing the wrap to move about at the mouth and peel. The smoke lasts just short of 1 hour.
In conclusion, this cigar was of rather ordinary but pleasant tobacco encased in a poorly executed cap and wrap. For the price demanded, I expected much more. I was wrong. Not recommended.
