Just received this item for Christmas, Can't get enough of it! Consider it a must have for the person who considers themselves a cigar smoker.

The top drawer was cut a little too tight with the top of cabinet. The top drawer was always difficult to pull from the start. The top drawer holds the humidistats; it needs to be pulled every few weeks to re-wet the humidistats. After about a year and a half when pulling on the top drawer to re-wet the humidistats, the front of the drawer became unattached. It was simply glued. After this event, the top drawer was removed, and with a simple wood rasp, and fine grit sand paper removed about an eighth of an inch from the entire top surface of the drawer. The drawer front was re-glued, and the drawer was re-inserted into the humidor. The humidor has performed over a year flawlessly since this repair.

The humidor was not returned because this appears from other reviews to be a common defect, and felt it was likely the unit would be replaced with another with the same defect.

For the price, and a simple remedy if needed, this unit is overall a good value, should preform well and maintain its appearance for years of cigar smoking pleasure.

Overall good design. Attractive to look at and easy to load and unload. I think the hydration system needs work. The glycerin beads fall out of the cases and there does not seem to be enough of them (less than one third of the cases). I thought I was supposed to use the fluid I purchased for smaller humidors with glycerin crystals, but when I sent a note to Thompsons, they said use distilled water, so which is it??

Glad I purchased this Humidor. Overall this is a great product for the price. The top drawer is a little hard to pull out due to improper fit, however, it is still a great product.

Overall, I was impressed with this humidor, especially for this price. If you like to have plenty of cigars handy, well this is your humidor. I encountered a few problems with the hygrometer but other than that, it's a great buy

The product is very attractive and sexy. Looks good anywhere you put it. It holds humidity well but do not know how well the hygrometer reads.

Great humidor but I gave it 3 stars because of the hygrometer. I went out of my way to call Thompson to find out if the analog hygrometer was adjustable. The woman I spoke to put me on hold for 5 minutes and came back and told me that is was adjustable but it is not.

I have another humidor which came with an analog hygrometer and you were able to calibrate it with a small screw on the back. I really like this feature but this one is not adjustable and reads as is. Definitely buy a digital to go with this humidor.

Other than that, the seal appears to be very good. Holds a lot of cigars (for me) and it looks great.

FYI, it comes with two large humidity trays filled with beads. When I first got the humidor, I wiped the inside down with distilled water, soaked the humidity beads in distilled water, and put one of them in the humidor. It was pretty high for the first week or so then came down and stabilized at 70%. After about 1 month, it dropped down to about 68%. I recently added the second tray filled with beads and its up to 71% right now. I imagine that it will eventually stabilize at 68-70% which is right were I like it.

I live in CA in the high desert with little moisture in the air so it must be sealed pretty well. I would recommend but they need to put an adjustable hygrometer in this unit.
