Not as good as the Monterey Hoya I was regular getting.

This is my go to on a regular basis. I bought about 20 boxes of these in the last few years and always found them to be great. Strong flavor, excellent draw, exceptional construction. I bought a lot of cigars more expensive than these and yet always come back to this one.

Waiting for my latest shipment from Thompson I was handed this beauty at my local cigar shop. $7 and change of the shelf. It looked beautiful and the owner said the flavor would blow my mind, SOLD. I did the circumcision right in the store and noticed a firm draw he had told me it DIDN'T have. He assured me no worries there was lots of smoke to be had. I toasted that baby in the parking lot and had it cherry just as I was about to pull out. Within my first few draws i could taste the coffee an cocoa. Along with that came a sweetness that enveloped my whole tongue. I was waiting for the billowing clouds of smoke but was enjoying the taste too much to notice. I had purchased the Churchill and knew this baby was going to please for well near an hour yet I certainly didn't have that amount of time so I was forced to let her burn out while I attended to life. 3 hours later and nearly half a stogy left i was looking forward to my after dinner smoke and a bottle of beer. Sadly this 89'er is a one time lighter. Gone was everything and I mean EVERYTHING. There was nothing to salvage and only a fresh cigar from my dwindling supply would do. I settled on a Casa De Garcia which is a fine daily smoke that can be re-lit a thousand times over. Oh how I yearned for those flavors back. I will buy more of these and i will suggest them to friends. Excellent for black tie affairs or an after dinner hour killer. Just keep this baby burning or it looses its beauty. I'll call this one the "One Chance" I imagine this it what keeps this beauty from hitting the 90's. Well, enjoy, but if ya but this sweetheart down, don't say I didn't tell you so...

Great flavor for the price. It's thick. It's full. The smoke is a little thin for my taste, but all around a good smoke. I enjoyed it very much.

Cool smoking, smooth with consistent taste down to the last 1�. It has a very good flavor with a beautiful, chocolate brown wrapper. Slightly milder and less complex than Rocky Patel's Sun Grown Torpedo, but then it's $2.00 a smoke cheaper. If cigar aesthetes are important, this is an impressive cigar - looks great in your hand. Other cigar smokers will take note - take the band off and let 'em guess! If it's not a 90, it's an 89.
