This is one of my favorite cigars. CAO has discontinued the line and Thompson is the only place I can find them I would prefer a Toro or Pyramid but the Robosto is great smoke. It burns longer than the average Robusto as well. Grab some while you can

I was first attracted to the CAO Pato because of its name. Pato is the Spanish word for duck. However it is also a derogatory slang word. Enough to peak my curiosity. The Pato is the perfect morning cigar. It lasts about 4 minutes. It is a medium blend. The Nicaragua/Criollo blend is easy to deal with in the morning. Although it is a Robusto, it is 1/8 of an inch short of 5 inches, and the band size is a wee bit thin. CAO is also known for a diverse selection of interesting cigars. I was initially attracted by the name, but found a good friend.

This one came to me by an email special. I couldn't really find anything about them but it was a good deal and I like having discount stuff to give away so I figured why not. Great packaging and good looking cigar. The flavor of the wrapper on the lips is peppery and earthy. The first third is a little peppery and woodsy for my normal tastes but it levels out and turns creamy with cocoa. The pepper is nearly gone by the halfway point. Last third the char/tar starts to become a little more noticeable which is common for me having a heavy draw and no patience.

Well constructed, medium body cigar. Flavor stays to the end does not get bitter or hot. Burn is even and long ash. Good amount of smoke and easy draw. I smoke several brands of cigars this one has it's own section in my humidor.

I bought these cigars when they advertised on sale at $30 off a box, I had smoked CAO before and their whole line of cigars are fantastic, including this one. It has a really nice draw and an even burn and a real nice creamy spot towards the end.

This was a great cigar. Wonderful flavors that you can actually pick up without studying your palette like a textbook. The draw did get a bit firm near the wrapper but it wasn't too big of an issue, still had a great amount of smoke output and held a razor sharp burn the whole time with no relights.
